A photographer has revealed the truth behind how he captured a rare public display of affection between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce from when they were at the start of their relationship and were captured holding hands.

The Kansas City Chiefs' tight end and the billionaire popstar have relaxed their guard a little bit but remain very private about their relationship, and prior to December 10, 2023 that even included holding hands.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's outing sparks love and fury

One example included Swift hiring out a restaurant in Missouri just so the pair could dine without feeling watched by other patrons, as well as allowing themselves to keep the seriousness of their connection secret.

But one photographer managed to snap the pair bonding as they left the Chiefs vs Buffalo Bills at the Arrowhead Stadium and Tammy Ljungblad revealed how she was sharp enough to capture the moment within the venue.

"One of the first games Taylor Swift attended," Ljungblad told the Kansas City Star. "I got a text from another photographer near the elevator, letting me know the couple was leaving the stadium.

"I quickly positioned myself alone on a stairway landing, and moments later, I captured the first Kansas City Star photo of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce leaving arm in arm.

"By the time I got home, my photo was all over the internet and television stations, published mostly without my photo byline or a Kansas City Star credit."

Since then, the pair have been spotted getting more and more comfortable in the public. For example, they were spotted cuddling at the 2024 US Open Final as they watched Jannik Sinner defeat Taylor Fritz.

Kelce also appeared on stage at the Eras Tour to surprise fans at Wembley Stadium in London. He scooped up his beau and carried across stage in front of 80,000 people, proving how the pair trust their relationship with the public more.

Who do the Chiefs play next?

The Kansas City Chiefs are next in action on either January 18 or 19 in the Divisional Round of the 2024/25 NFL Playoffs.

They received a bye for the Wild Card round and thus can gain some much needed rest. They will take on either the Houston Texans, Los Angeles Chargers once the First Round has concluded.
