The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton stepped out this morning to attend the Christmas Day Church service in Sandringham with a body language expert stating she looked ‘strong’ and ‘confident’. This will be one of Kate’s only public appearances this year after undergoing chemotherapy earlier this year.

Body language expert, Judi James, also noted that Kate has a new and ‘unexpected’ wing-woman, the daughter of Mike and Zara Tindall, six year old Lena. Judi told Fabulous: "As the Wales's stepped out for their meet with the crowd Lena was seen bobbing about, waiting for a gap to get in and cheer her friends up.”

Judi continued to say: "First she [Lena] pulled alongside Charlotte, grinning at her and making her smile but then she targeted Kate herself, standing beside her and leaning her head back to flash the biggest, cheesiest grin to make Kate laugh, too.

"It was very much Kate's crowd, with a more tactile display of affection from both the fans and Kate herself. There were full body hugs and even some clinging or lingering rituals from both the fans and Kate during what looked like some personal and very meaningful conversations."

Judi also added that Kate’s outfit had a big significance in how she’s dealing with her recovery. She said that the ‘earthy country green shade’ that was also worn by other royals indicated ‘unity’ and ‘team bonding’. Queen Camilla matches Kate and wore the same earthy green, while George and Louis also completed their outfits with green ties.

Kate opted for a fascinator this morning which Judi said signals ‘strength’ and ‘confidence’ as opposed to a large hat which can indicate vulnerability. She was also excited to see the return of ‘Kate’s dimpled smile’. Kate has been taking time out from her royal duties since she revealed her cancer diagnosis. A Kensington Palace spokesperson confirmed she started a course of preventive chemotherapy in late February.

After taking time away from royal duties, in September, Kate confirmed she had finished chemotherapy and was focusing on being 'cancer free'. Kate revealed she was "looking forward" to being back at work and taking on a few more public engagements in the coming months. William revealed that Kate hopes to step up her royal engagements in 2025. He said: "I think hopefully Catherine will be doing a bit more next year, so, we'll have some more trips maybe lined up."
