Katie Price, at 46, has reportedly left her inner circle worried, as they've seen her develop what seems to be an addiction to cosmetic surgery, with plans already afoot for another procedure on her ears. According to pals spilling the beans to Closer UK, Katie is expected to jet off to Turkey later in January for what's being called her first beauty tweak of the New Year - she aims to correct her 'pixie ears', which she believes were affected by a previous facelift.
She's looking to have her ears temporarily removed, reshaped and pinned back to stop them from protruding.
The source disclosed to Closer UK, "Katie is heading to Turkey in January for her first New Year's procedure: fixing her pixie ears. She thinks they need correcting after her recent facelift. She's having her ears removed, then re-stitched in place and pinned back so that they don't stick out."
Word from those close to the celebrity also suggests rising unease over the number of surgeries she has undergone. Katie, who shot to fame between the late 90s and early 00s, has reportedly indulged in more than 15 breast jobs and a facelift among other body changes.
A confidant expressed their concern, telling the magazine, "Friends think Katie has gone too far. They feel like she's obsessed and loves the attention – and the money from the pictures – that the surgery brings in.", reports the Daily Record.
Katie’s attitude towards her transformations appears nonchalant as one acquaintance put it, "It seems to them like she's locked into a dangerous ugly cycle, but Katie loves being able to reinvent herself and looks at a procedures list like a menu. She wants to try everything".
Last year, the Record reported Katie was hoping to have an even smaller waist than she already does.
A source revealed: "Katie not only wants the biggest lips and boobs in the business but, in a shocking revelation made at The Glamour Awards, she also wants the smallest waist, setting her sights on 22 inches."
Friends are reportedly worried that further weight loss could make her look ill and pose serious health risks, potentially causing irreversible damage to her body. Katie has previously spoken about her stance on surgery.
In an interview with Closer towards the end of last year, after her 17th breast operation, she admitted she might need therapy for her attitude towards cosmetic procedures. She said: "I think I need therapy when it comes to surgery. I wouldn't say I've got body dysmorphia, but there's obviously an underlying something why I feel the need to get surgery, or why I look in the mirror and think, 'I want to change that, or that'. What you've got to remember is that I'm four years away from being 50 so I'm entitled to [do] whatever I want to my face."
Representatives for Katie Price have not commented on the matter.
