They don’t wanna see Mommy kissing Santa Claus.
Kelly Clarkson revealed in a new interview that her children — whom she shares with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock — are not thrilled with the idea of her dating.
While the Grammy winner is “enjoying being single” these days, she told KOST 103.5 radio personality Ellen K that her “little ones” would prefer she stay that way.
“I mean, I’ve explained to [my daughter, River Rose, 10] that ‘when Mommy’s ready, it’s OK. I’m allowed to do that,'” Clarkson, 42, said.
The singer-songwriter, who also parents son Remington “Remy” Alexander, 8, went on, “My kids, both of them, are not — they constantly bring it up: ‘Please, we don’t want you to be with anybody else.’ They’re young, so it’s hard to picture their mom with someone else other than their dad.”
Despite her kids’ wishes, Clarkson noted that she’s “expressed” to them, “Hey, I love you guys, but Mommy needs loving, too!”
Though the “American Idol” Season 1 winner is not exactly “looking for” her next love interest, she admitted that “the hope of that is really beautiful and wonderful and magical.”

Clarkson disclosed to Ellen that she recently quipped to a friend, “Am I ever gonna make out with anyone again? That sounds fun.”
She continued, “There’s nothing like that feeling of having someone that you’re so excited to see, [especially in] the beginning of a relationship. Yeah, that seems pretty fun.”
The “Kelly Clarkson Show” host explained that she “would love to” kiss someone and agreed “100 percent” with Ellen that the smooch wouldn’t have to be as part of a full-blown relationship.
While Clarkson believes she was “programmed” to go into romantic ventures with a “serious” mindset, she also feels she’s “a magnet for people who are really, like, all in right off the bat and wanna be exclusive.”
She’s not necessarily looking to “kiss a bunch of people,” but she’s feeling “very noncommittal at the moment.”
The musician filed for divorce from Blackstock, 47 — who served as her talent manager while they were married — in June 2020 after nearly seven years.
The former couple’s contentious divorce was finalized in March 2022.
