Former Succession co-stars Kieran Culkin and Jeremy Strong can’t stop making headlines for their seemingly awkward relationship and this Golden Globes moment was no exception.
While Culkin took to the stage to accept his award for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Strong, who was also nominated in the same category, didn’t even smile as he clapped for his former onscreen brother.
The moment came after Culkin, who won for his role in A Real Pain, appeared to take a swipe at Strong, who earned a nomination for his role in The Apprentice, during his recent appearance on Variety’s Actors on Actors.

“I object to when actors call themselves ‘storytellers,'” Culkin said during his conversation with Colman Domingo on December 17, directly referencing comments made by Strong during an Actors Roundtable with The Hollywood Reporter. “I don’t really like that.”
“Sorry, Jeremy. I don’t think I’m telling the story,” Culkin added.
It’s not the first time Culkin has aired his differing views from Strong. Back in 2023, Culkin addressed Strong’s method acting process, telling Esquire: “That might be something that helps him. I can tell you that it doesn’t help me.”
Strong infamously opened up about his method acting in a 2021 profile in The New Yorker, where fellow Succession co-star Brian Cox made it clear he didn’t approve of Strong’s process. “I just worry about what he does to himself. I worry about the crises he puts himself through in order to prepare,” Cox said. He later shared even harsher words to Town & Country magazine in 2023 about Strong’s acting process, “Oh, it’s f-cking annoying. Don’t get me going on it.”
