Kim K breaks the internet again, this time with Skims' D&G collaboration

Kim Kardashian broke the internet once again after launching Skims’ coveted leopard print-drenched collection with Dolce & Gabbana.

Kardashian-backed Skims, known for its shapewear and luxurious loungewear, launched a collection with Italian house Dolce & Gabbana. Shortly after, the website crashed as fans clamoured to get their hands on leopard-print corsets and luxe loungewear galore.

Back in 2014, Kim Kardashian’s shoot with Paper Magazine, exposing her glossy behind, was tagged with the headline “Break the Internet” – a moment that changed the shape of pop culture forever. Since then, a lot has changed, but Kardashian’s power to break the internet remains intact.

The collection, which saw Skims hike its prices, is made up of pyjamas, loungewear, corsets and catsuits. It ranges from £48 for a cotton thong to £692 for a terry robe.

Back in May 2022, Kourntey Kardashian’s Italian wedding was sponsored by Dolce & Gabbana. Just months later sister Kim collaborated with the brand on its SS23 collection. Kourtney accused Kim of copying her wedding by working with Dolce & Gabbana, which led to an onscreen broil that captured the attention of pop-culture consumers across the globe. However, the campaign starred Kim and Kourtney, confirming their ‘Dolce & Gabbana drama’ had ended.

Though Kim Kardashian has a long-standing history with the design duo that make up Dolce & Gabanna, this isn't the first time Skims has tipped its toes into the luxury fashion pond. Back in 2021, the brand teamed up with Fendi on a sell-out collection. The highly anticipated collaboration reportedly made $1 million in profits in one minute after its first drop, with the capsule sold out almost immediately.
