KRAFTON India and KukuFM have brought out BGMI: Lone Survivor, the first audiobook adaptation of a video game IP in India. BGMI: Lone Survivor is available on KukuFM as a free trial for new and existing customers. Future plans include making the audiobook available in multiple Indian languages and expanding the BGMI universe with new character-driven storylines and missions.

BGMI: Lone Survivor is an audiobook about Carlo, who grows from a struggling survivalist to a tactical leader, emphasising the value of teamwork, trust, and strategic thinking in a dystopian world. The audiobook delves into issues of survival, power dynamics, betrayal, and trust, criticising elite use of violence for profit and emphasising personal bravery. It improves the gameplay experience by adding emotional depth and creating an immersive environment, while also providing a narrative-driven viewpoint on the BGMI universe, allowing fans to experience the game’s dramatic combat in a new way.

BGMI: Lone Survivor follows Carlo, who is imprisoned on the deadly island of Erangel, as he faces mercenaries, terrorists, and killers. He joins forces with Anna, Badshah, and Peter to survive and negotiate betrayals. Unbeknownst to them, strong figures manage the game of high-stakes betting. As the stakes mount, Carlo transforms into a tactical leader, seeking to outwit the game’s masterminds.

Sean Hyunil Sohn, CEO of KRAFTON India, said, “This initiative marks an important step in our journey to extend the BGMI universe beyond gaming. By partnering with KukuFM, we can bring rich storytelling experiences to our audience in India, making our IPs more accessible and relevant through meaningful collaborations. This is a testament on how we can bridge the gap between global IPs and Indian audiences by adapting content to local preferences while preserving its original essence.”

By adding more layers to the story and embracing audio-first storytelling, we are enhancing engagement beyond the game, allowing fans to experience the character in a more immersive way. This also marks an exciting step in exploring how video game narratives can be adapted into the audio space, giving audiences a new way to engage with storytelling anytime and anywhere.”
