Trigger Warning: This article contains discussions of domestic violence charges.
Former Vanderpump Rules star James Kennedy’s arrest for an alleged domestic violence incident involving his girlfriend, Ally Lewber, may have surprised some. However, it was not a shock to his former girlfriend Kristen Doute, and his ex-fiancée, Rachel Leviss. They had both hinted that James had issues controlling his temper. And now, Kristen is sharing her thoughts on his arrest.
About a week after his arrest, James broke his silence via Instagram. “I am committed to making meaningful changes in my life,” he wrote. “I am taking time to focus on my sobriety, personal growth, and being present for my loved ones. “Navigating challenging moments is not easy, but I am determined to learn, grow, and move forward with the incredible support system around me,” he added.
When news of James’ arrest broke, Kristen shared an article about his arrest via her Instagram Stories. She wrote the word “FINALLY” across the article. Now she is opening up on her podcast, Balancing Act, with her fiancé Luke Broderick. “So I want to talk about something very briefly. It’s going to start with a very unpopular opinion. I’m sure a lot of you have been keeping up with the James Kennedy news that I’ve been fairly quiet about,” Kristen said.
The Valley star shared that her heart was “beating so fast as I’m talking about it” and noted that she “read some things that she [Rachel] has been speaking out about.” Then Kristen added that she was in tune “very much with some of the things Rachel has recently said.”
Recently, Rachel’s attorneys, Mark Geragos and Bryan Freedman, issued a statement regarding James. “We are aware of James Kennedy’s recent arrest for domestic violence. Rachel’s lawsuit describes, in significant detail, Mr. Kennedy’s long history of erratic, violent behavior and substance abuse,” the statement read. The lawsuit referenced by Rachel’s attorneys is the revenge porn lawsuit against Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix.
Kristen Doute slams James Kennedy’s statement about his arrest
Kristen continued, “I know I said very little at this point about the James situation.” She explained that it was “triggering” for her. “I have battled with speaking out to help with my healing, and also needing a break to maintain my peace in this pregnancy.”
In conclusion, Kristen shared that she “has some things to say” and will discuss it in the future. “For now, I want to say: James Kennedy, domestic abuse is not a ‘challenging moment,’ and for Ally: I hope you have all the support that you deserve,” Kristen stated.
The Valley is streaming on Peacock.
