Kyle Richards reacted to claims of potential double standards and revealed an off-camera conversation she had with Garcelle Beauvais on Tuesday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live.
As she also responded to Garcelle, 58, saying it may be time for her to leave The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, weighed in on Dorit Kemsley, 48, calling Paul “PK” Kemsley, 57, a bad dad, and accused the cast of not wanting to talk about their own lives, Kyle, 56, was asked why she called Garcelle an “a**hole” for bringing up her sexuality when she questioned Denise Richards, 53, about hers amid the Brandi Glanville, 52, affair rumors.
“The reason I said that was because I had had a private conversation with Garcelle, which was a genuine conversation and it meant a lot to me. So when she did that, I felt like, ‘Wow, you took our private conversation that really had a lot of meaning to me and you weaponized it,'” Kyle explained on the February 4 episode of WWHL. “I really thought, ‘Gosh, we’re really becoming close, and I really had been happy and looking forward to us becoming closer and better friends. So when she did that, and then Sutton had said something on camera, I thought, ‘Gosh … I really thought they were my friends.'”
On the WWHL: After Show, Kyle shared her thoughts about Garcelle saying on last week’s RHOBH: After Show that it’s time for her to leave the series if she doesn’t want to show a certain part of her life.
“I don’t think that Garcelle realizes how much I have shared over these 14 years of my life on the show, between having two siblings on the show and what I’m going through with my separation [from Mauricio Umansky],” she noted. “Even having that conversation, which was very painful, with my children last year, I’ve shared so much, and I guess she wanted one specific answer that she wasn’t getting.”
“Some of these people don’t show their kids on the show. We don’t see a lot of people’s kids, or they don’t want to talk about certain things, and I respected that,” Kyle added. “So, you know, I’m getting used to the jabs at this point this season.”
Meanwhile, back on the live broadcast, Kyle said that when it came to Dorit suggesting PK was a bad dad, she believes she made the statement out of anger.
“I don’t think she believes that,” Kyle admitted. “My take is she was probably angry, and people say things in the moment when they’re angry. I would imagine [PK] would be very hurt by that. It’s really difficult to say something like that when he’s the father of your children and to put that out there.”
Throughout RHOBH season 14, Kyle’s communication with PK has been under fire, especially a text about keeping his secrets. And while she’s insisted she had no bad intentions, she can see where it would “seem suspicious.”
“We had just started shooting the season. So, when you do what we do, people get scared to talk and say things, especially when the cameras have just come up. I mean, like, we just started shooting. I’m not gonna talk about this on camera,” she explained. “I told everybody from the very beginning that I sent PK a text and Dorit when they announced their separation … Both of them got a text from me. I thought I was being a good friend.”
As for Dorit suggesting she’d be mad if she was texting Mauricio in the same manner, Kyle disagreed.
Kyle also disagreed with Garcelle, who said her texts were “inappropriate.”
“They were all trying to make something out of something that was not a big deal … I guess people don’t want to talk about their own lives,” she reasoned.
Continuing on about Dorit and her separation, Kyle denied knowing that PK’s drinking had become such an issue, denied PK texted her recently, and confirmed he and Mauricio, 54, are still “best friends.” She also said that Mauricio was not in touch with Dorit and noted that she wouldn’t be upset if they were.
Moving on to Bozoma Saint John, 48, Kyle said she expected her and Dorit to be close since they “were hanging out together the most” at the start of the season. She then reacted to her co-star questioning her character to sister Kathy Hilton, 65.
“It actually hurt my feelings because I had a completely different experience. I had a great conversation with her at her home, and we had texted each other so many times, and I was really excited to have her be a part of the show. I went into her room in Oceanside and told her how excited I was and how amazing I thought she was, so I was really surprised to see that actually, and especially talking to my sister about it,” she explained.
Also on the live broadcast, Kyle confirmed she has the phone numbers of Rihanna, 36, Ellen Degeneres’ wife, Portia de Rossi, 52, and TMZ’s Harvey Levin, 74.
“I have Harvey’s number. I’ve known him since the ’90s,” she revealed.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 14 airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
