Lauren Goodger insists she’s not ‘obsessed’ with ex Mark Wright after Michelle Keegan baby news

Lauren Goodger has spoken out about her ex-fiancé Mark Wright’s pregnancy news with his wife of 10 years, Michelle Keegan.

The couple, who married in 2015, shared a sweet snap on Instagram announcing the news on December 29.

In the photo, taken at sunset on a beach, Michelle, 37, is cradling her bump while wearing a two-piece white set while her husband, 37, faces her while walking towards her on the sand, with his back to the camera.

‘2025 is going to be a special one for us… 👶🏻,’ they captioned the post.

Following this announcement, rumours emerged that Lauren, 38, was left ‘devastated’ by the news. The former Towie star has now put the rumours to bed as she confirmed to Closer that she was far from upset.

‘Let’s get this straight,’ she said. ‘I’m not anxious, upset, or planning to leave Essex, and it didn’t ruin my Christmas! I get it – people will always be fascinated because Mark and I were on TV together and I always seem to get dragged back into stories about him, but how can I be devastated?

‘I’m so happy he’s going to be a dad, and I mean it.’

‘I’ve fallen in love and had two kids since and he’s a married man. It doesn’t affect my life whether Mark is having a baby, I’m not obsessed with him, my life will carry on,’ she added.

Lauren was previously in a relationship with Charles Drury. Lauren and Charles began dating in 2020 and the pair have had two children, Larose who was born in 2021, and Lorena who sadly died just days after her birth in 2022.

Lauren and Mark dated for 10 years from the age of 15 until they split in 2012. Their romance was a key part of the early series of Towie.

Explaining why she decided to speak about her ex’s baby news, the star revealed she wanted to put an end to the rumour mill.

‘I’m only speaking about it because of all the s**t I’ve had my way, it’s been constant. I haven’t posted anything on social media, yet people have written comments like, “Mark and Michelle are having a baby, you need to get over it, it’s embarrassing.”

‘I hadn’t even seen their news, but I had friends, family and even cast members messaging me, saying, “You, OK?” I was thinking, “Of course I am, good for him.”’

She emphasised that she was keen to put rumours of any animosity to bed: ‘I wish Mark and his family well and I’m sure [Mark’s mum] Carol’s over the moon, there’s no bad feeling on my part.

‘I’d never usually talk about him, but it’s unfair for me to sit quietly while assumptions are made about me. People shouldn’t believe everything they read and I want to put this all to bed.’

Last month, Lauren revealed her ‘beautiful’ plans for more children after the death of her daughter. The star revealed that she’s considering fostering or adoption to expand her family.

‘I’m still young, I still can have my own baby, but I’m not with anyone and time is going on,’ Lauren told OK!. ‘I feel like it’s such a beautiful thing to be able to do and I’ve got the space.’

She added: ‘I’ve always known I wanted more [children], even when I lost Lorena, it never put me off the idea. If things were different with Charlie, then things would have probably been different by now, I’ve still not moved on or been with anyone else.

‘I was so traumatised by everything that I’ve just shut off and all I could be was a mum. I’m really trying my best to heal and that’s why I’ve not moved on.’
