Strictly fans were left in tears after the result of the dance-off was leaked online overnight, with some saying it "left them in despair"

The results show airs on Sunday but is pre-recorded on the Saturday night after the live show, meaning that the name of the axed star is often leaked online. The Mirror knows the name of the celebrity, but won't be naming them.

The Twitter (X) account dedicated to leaking the results gave fans live updates as the dance-off took place, announcing the first couple to find themselves in the bottom two before revealing the second pairing to join them.

Fans took to comment online, with one writing "it's a joke" that one couple still remained in the competition. While another agreed, suggesting they should be in the dance-off. However, despite some agreeing with the result, others posted floods of crying emojis

Blackpool Week kicked off with a bang on Saturday night, with Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell wowing with their American Smooth to Jump by Paul Anka while Tasha Ghouri and Aljaz Skorjanec set the dancefloor on fire with their Paso Doble to Torn by Nathan Lanier.

Heading into tonight's show, the odds were against Wynne Evans and partner Katya Jones at 3/5, followed closely by Pete Wicks and Jowita Przystał and Jamie Borthwick and Michelle Tsiakkas. The couple had ended up in the dance-off on Sunday against Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu, with head judge Shirley Ballas ' choice to save them sparking outrage among fans.

Wynne later addressed the tense dance-off on his BBC Radio Wales show, revealing why he believed Shirley had saved him. Joining Radio Wales co-stars Dot Davies and James Williams ahead of his show airing on Monday, Dot exclaimed how it had been a "stressful" night, exclaiming: "I don’t want you to do that again!"

She continued: "I’ve always said [Shirley’s] a good girl, I've always liked that Shirley. Good girl, saw sense!" He responded: ""Gosh, I tell you. It was pretty nerve-wracking to say. And also I think a approach it from a different angle, I think, to some people because I’m having a good time, thrilled to be there."

Meanwhile Shirley hit back at the ferocious trolling she had received from fans and even left her pondering if she wanted to stay on the show. Viewers had flocked to Twitter in outrage, with some accusing Shirley of favouritism - including one who wrote: "Can we start a petition to get Shirley off this show, she doesn’t even bother trying to conceal her favouritism anymore and she’s head judge?? It’s just not fair on the other contestants #strictly."

Shirley responded to the tweet, suggesting she wanted to leave the show as she wrote: "Where do I sign lol. Night night. X" But many rushed to Shirley's comments, pleading with her to not take any notice. One tweeted: "That's why you're a judge & they are not. I personally love you on strictly, so take no notice."

While another commented: "You have your opinion Shirley, as we all do. We don't always have to agree with your judgement but it takes no effort to respect you. I'm sorry you're getting so much negativity yet again, try to ignore it. You're my favourite judge and I love that you follow your heart."
