Liam Payne's tragic death is being treated as "inconclusive" by officials.
Tragically, the former One Direction member met his end after a fall from the third floor of the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires last Wednesday (October 16).
Despite a post-mortem confirming multiple injuries from the fall as the cause of death for the 31-year-old father, further investigations are underway.
Prosecutor Marcelo Roma has ordered comprehensive tests, including histopathological, biochemical, and toxicological studies, to ascertain whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident.
As the Argentine National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor's Office awaits these results, which could take up to two weeks, they have stated that the circumstances surrounding Payne's death remain unclear, according to the Mail.

In poignant scenes over the weekend, Geoff Payne- Liam's bereaved father - was seen reading tributes beside a candlelit memorial outside the hotel where his son perished.
Having flown to Argentina to formally identify his son's body and oversee its return to the UK, Geoff remains steadfast by his side, reports the Mirror.
Plans are being made to repatriate Liam's body this week, with his funeral scheduled for next month as his family yearns to bring him "back where he belongs".
A source has revealed: "Liam's loved ones just want him home, back where he belongs among his family. As they await the pathologist to finish their tests, behind the scenes, they have been tackling the logistics about how best to get his body back to the UK.

"There are no direct commercial flights between Buenos Aires and London, but naturally, they want the flight to have the least stops and interruptions possible. But Geoff is determined to accompany his son home."
One potential solution under discussion is the chartering of a private jet, though it is understood that only a few aircrafts are capable of completing the vast 6,925-mile flight directly without refuelling.
The sad details emerge as Liam's followers from every corner of the world joined in sorrow to honour his memory. 'Directioners', as his devoted supporters are known, convened in major cities including London, New York, Paris, Stockholm, and Colombia to grieve their loss.

In solemn tribute, the fans laid flowers, penning heartfelt messages and singing nostalgic hits from the band. Iconic landmarks like Hyde Park's Peter Pan statue in London and the Tuileries Garden in Paris became makeshift memorials to the late singer.
Devoted One Direction aficionado, Ellie Markham, 23, made her way to Hyde Park from Brighton. She expressed: "I just wanted to be here to pay my respects and let Liam's family know all Directioners are thinking of them. He will forever be in our hearts."
