Liam Payne's girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, has made a poignant comeback on social media by sharing a symbol deeply significant to both her and the late singer.

The 25-year-old actress was heartbroken after the One Direction star tragically died at 31 following a fall from his hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 16 October. She previously joined Liam in the south American country for a lavish holiday before she returned to the US.

After a break from social media, Kate took to Instagram with a photo of herself donning beige sweatpants featuring '444', an "angel number" cherished by the pair, rooted in ancient Greek beliefs that certain numbers hold mystical significance. She captioned the post with a nod to a pal: "Ali found me these sweatpants yesterday."

Accompanying a zoomed-in shot of the number, she added: "Love, support, guidance from your angels." The '444' motif is thought to represent protection and encouragement.

Previously, Kate had shared a snapshot of a note from Liam scribbled with the same numbers, hinting at his fascination with angel numbers and the idea of "manifesting" one's fate. This emotional tribute follows the announcement of Liam's cause of death as "polytrauma" indicating he sustained multiple injuries.

His family now harbours hope for justice after charges were brought against five individuals connected to his untimely passing. A close pal of the grief-stricken family confided to The Sun: "It’s been a very difficult Christmas for them but they now just want justice for their son."

They added: "Finally, after a horrific couple of months, there is a feeling like this could be possible." In a significant turn of events, Liam's manager, along with the boss and reception chief of the Casa Sur Hotel, have been slammed with charges of negligent homicide, risking a prison sentence of up to five years if found guilty.

After his death, Kate told fans how Liam planned to marry her and was making plans for their future together in the weeks leading up to his tragic passing. Kate shared a snippet of a note Liam left her with her Instagram followers and referenced the angel number 444.

"A few weeks ago, we sat outside on a beautiful evening manifesting our lives together," she shared in October. "I keep your note close, even though you told me not to look at it. It said, 'Me and Kate to marry within a year/engaged and together forever 444'. Liam, I know we'll be together forever, but not in the way we had planned. You'll always be with me. I've gained a guardian angel. I will love you for the rest of my life and beyond, carrying our dreams and memories with me everywhere I go. Forever yours, Katelyn 444."
