The hotel where Liam Payne died has been raided for a second time! Does this mean the investigation is heating up??
Local sources confirmed the legal activity to Us Weekly on Tuesday, revealing that the CasaSur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, was raided by local police earlier in the day. The insiders said that details were being kept under wraps to preserve the confidentiality of a judicial investigation, sharing:
“Operations carried out by the City Police [and] requested by the prosecutor Andrés Madrea [were] within the framework of the case that is under summary secrecy.”
In video captured by the local news outlet Farandula Show and viewed by Us, three law enforcement officials could be seen leaving the hotel wearing blue vests, backpacks, and shoulders bags. One officer had a cardboard box and several loose items under his arms. They took these items to the back of a police car parked in front of the hotel.

So, what were authorities looking for during this raid? Seems like they’re still digging into two hotel employees who have been suspected of supplying the musician with drugs. But now a friend of the singer’s is also being investigated! According to TMZ, police searched the hotel lockers of the staffers and reviewed security footage. They also went to the homes of the employees — AND to the home of an unidentified friend of the Strip That Down crooner. Wow!
Per the outlet, the authorities believe the hotel workers had contact with the pop star before he fell to his death off his fourth-story balcony. They reportedly used text messages from Liam’s phone to identify the “friend” who may have sold him the drugs. Jeez. The friend was reportedly not home at the time of the raid.
This comes several weeks after police raided the hotel for the first time on October 23. They were reportedly looking to identify staff members who were working at the hotel on the day of the One Direction star’s death on October 16. ABC News previously reported that the partial autopsy findings showed the 31-year-old had “pink cocaine” in his system at the time of his death, which is not cocaine but a mix of other drugs, usually methamphetamine, ketamine, and MDMA. Cocaine, benzodiazepine, and crack were also found. Cops believe a Dove soap box discovered in Liam’s trashed room (alongside other drug paraphernalia) may have been how the substances were delivered undetected. So far, nobody has been arrested or charged in the case, but the investigation is clearly far from over.
