In a tragic turn of events, former One Direction star Liam Payne sent heart-wrenching texts just hours before his untimely death. The singer, aged 31, met his end on October 16 after plummeting from the third floor of CasaSur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
A post-mortem revealed he suffered multiple injuries and both internal and external bleeding due to the fall. Following his death, police discovered substances and trashed furniture in his hotel room, as stated by the public prosecutor's office.
Liam had been with mate Roger Nores, with whom he is believed to have travelled to Argentina. They were even seen at fellow bandmate Niall Horan's gig earlier that month.

While Liam bunked up at CasaSur Hotel solo, Roger stayed elsewhere. TMZ has got its hands on new documents showing Liam texted Roger on the morning of his death.
The night before, at 10pm, he ordered four bottles of whiskey, followed by another five at 6:36am. At 9:32am on the fateful day, Liam messaged Roger asking, "Can you get 6 grams? " which is thought to be a reference to cocaine, reports the Mirror.
The dad-of-one was behaving "erratically" leading up to the incident, with hotel staff describing him as "an aggressive man who may have been under the effects of drugs and alcohol".
Liam was reportedly "acting erratically in the hotel lobby and smashed his laptop" before being escorted to his room.
A concerned hotel worker dialed 911, expressing worry for the singer's well-being: "I don't know whether his life may be in danger. He is in a room with a balcony, and, well, we're a little afraid," said the hotel employee in the call transcript.
In a heartbreaking turn of events, a loud noise was heard in the courtyard and by 5pm local time Liam's body was found. Officials discounted suicide as the cause after suggesting the musician might've been in a "semi or total unconsciousness" state when he fell. Liam could have been attempting an escape via the balcony, ending in a fatal plunge. His corpse was discovered alongside a previously unseen bag, fuelling speculation about his ill-fated exit strategy.
The discovery of another leather bag carrying booze, pills, and a note penned "for Liam" on a second-storey guest's balcony suggests a premeditated departure plan had gone awry. Detectives surmise this separate bag—confirmed as Liam’s but different from the one near his body—had been part of an effort to make an escape.
Three individuals now face charges related to Liam's death.
