In a poignant revelation, it has come to light that Nicole Scherzinger maintained contact with Liam Payne right until his untimely demise.

The Pussycat Dolls icon, aged 46, famed for her role on the X Factor panel that synergised Liam Payne alongside Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Harry Styles, and Zayn Malik into the sensation known as One Direction, followed through on her initial inkling to unite the lads into a group. Her consistent communication with Liam has been highlighted following his tragic death in Argentina on October 16th, as waves of tributes persist.

Scherzinger's connection with Payne remained strong over the years, evidenced by the statement from musical magnate Andrew Lloyd Webber, who disclosed her unwavering support up to the devastating day. While involved in the Broadway hit "Sunset Blvd."

Andrew remarked to Billboard: "I suppose something that hasn't been said, and I suppose I could say, is that of course she mentored Liam, from One Direction."

He further shared an intimate detail about that tragic Wednesday: "On the Wednesday when he died, she was still texting him that day.", reports the Mirror.

Nicole recently paid homage to Liam with a heartfelt post, sharing a photograph of them with Kelly Rowland during filming for their latest project. "Dear Liam, I will forever cherish and treasure the time we shared together, from fifteen years ago when One Direction was born, right up until just a few weeks ago," she wrote.

"It was such a blessing to get to work with you recently. We shared the same love and passion for music and I will forever remember the meaningful and joyful conversations we had."

The photo she shared captured a moment of joy, with Liam smiling contentedly at the camera, flanked by Nicole and Kelly Rowland. "It's been so hard to process that you're no longer here, but I am grateful to have known your kind heart, sweet soul and character. You brought so much joy, light, and laughter to the lives of those that truly knew you. I will 'miss you' my friend and carry you in my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with your family," Nicole expressed, deeply moved by the loss.

Liam was poised to reunite with Nicole for a spot on Netflix's new talent show, 'Building The Band', set as a judge alongside the iconic Nicole, Destiny's Child legend Kelly Rowland and host, Backstreet Boys' very own AJ McLean. The unique concept of the show envisaged forming a music group whose members would remain strangers until their grand unveiling.

Netflix disclosed: "As former members of The Pussycat Dolls, Destiny's Child, One Direction, and the Backstreet Boys, respectively, these hitmakers will bring their unparalleled expertise and years of personal experience to the competition."

Shooting for the series had kicked off, with stars being sighted in Manchester, perfecting their act during rehearsals. Liam himself was spotted soaking up the scene at Manchester's Sexy Fish restaurant with his girlfriend, social media phenom Kate Cassidy.
