Former One Direction singer Liam Payne faced troubling incidents in the days leading up to his untimely death.

Just days before his fatal fall from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, sources revealed to PEOPLE that Payne was kicked out of another hotel in the city, the Palacio Duhau - Park Hyatt Buenos Aires, for disruptive behavior.

Three insiders shared that Payne was asked to leave the luxury hotel due to his intoxicated state and the disturbance he caused to other guests.

"He was being a nuisance and disturbing other guests and appeared intoxicated," one source told PEOPLE. The hotel has decided on keeping details under wraps.

Tragically, only a few days later, on October 16, Payne fell several stories from the balcony of his room at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel, resulting in his death.

Buenos Aires Security Ministry communications director Pablo Policicchio confirmed that Payne "jumped from the balcony."

Autopsy results confirm multiple fatal injuries

A preliminary autopsy report showed that Payne suffered multiple injuries, both internal and external, which contributed to his death.

The coroner confirmed that "the head injuries were sufficient to cause death," and the "internal and external hemorrhages" in his skull, thorax, and limbs added to the fatal outcome.

Authorities also clarified that there were no signs of defensive injuries, indicating that no other parties were involved. A toxicology report is still pending.

Payne's death has left his former One Direction bandmates heartbroken. Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik each shared touching tributes to their late friend.

"I am truly devastated by Liam's passing," wrote Styles. Niall Horan, who saw Payne just days before his death, expressed sorrow, saying, "I sadly didn't know that after saying goodbye, I would be saying goodbye forever."

The world continues to mourn the loss of Liam Payne, a talented musician whose life was cut tragically short.
