Lil Uzi Vert is gearing up for his next release.
On Wednesday (Oct. 23), he unveiled the cover art for his new album, Eternal Atake 2, as well as a Gibson Hazard-directed visual trailer. Per Apple Music, the 16-track LP lands on Nov. 1.
The short film takes viewers back to March 6, 2020, when Uzi “mysteriously vanished.” The video was captioned, “While it was never confirmed what happened that day, the faithful believe it to be the fulfillment of a long-awaited prophecy.”
Centered around UFO-rhetoric and religion, the artist is seemingly beamed off into an alternate universe.
In a comatose state, Uzi was prepared for “memory extraction,” followed by a “deletion sequence” and a full memory reset. At the end of the minute-long tease, he awakens and we can assume the reset was a success.
Ahead of the announcement, a song titled “Uzi The Earthling! (TV Show Theme)” appeared on YouTube and Spotify.
Fans praised Uzi’s rollout as they awaited in anticipation for more details.
One commented, “I love when artists make full cinematic trailers for their album releases.” Another replied, “When the world needed him most… he returned.” Someone else chimed in, “It’s already a classic and I didn’t even hear it.”
Uzi ended 2023 with the arrival of “Red Moon.” The surprise drop came as a YouTube exclusive on Christmas and was accompanied by a Be El Be-directed music video.
It was the first standalone track that followed his Pink Tape drop that June.
