The Detroit Lions are one of the hottest teams in the NFL. They bolster one of the best defensive units, despite the massive number of injuries they have had to endure.

Due to the defensive prowess of the Lions, it was only natural for defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn to receive a lot of head coach requests from teams. The New York Jets, Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints, Las Vegas Raiders, and Jacksonville Jaguars all requested to interview Glenn.
Glenn is one of the hottest candidates to land a head coach position, but there is one team that is not going to get the chance to interview him. The Lions DC denied the request by the New England Patriots to interview for their head coaching vacancy.
NFL insider Tom Pelissero revealed that Glenn denied the request to be interviewed by the Patriots. Instead, he will use the rest of the week to be interviewed by the other five NFL teams seeking a new head coach.
As stated, Glenn has become one of the hottest candidates in the 2025 hiring cycle. He isn't the only Lions coach who may get a crack at landing a head coach position.
Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson is also drawing interest from many teams. Should both Glenn and Johnson be hired away, Lions head coach Dan Campbell will need to find replacements for the 2025 season.
Glenn and Johnson's interview requests just go to show how skilled they are as coaches and the impact that Campbell has had on the Lions since he took over as head coach.
Glenn has not been a coach for that long, as he received his first coaching position in 2014 with the Cleveland Browns as the assistant defensive backs coach. After the 2015 season, he would leave to be the defensive backs coach for the New Orleans Saints from 2016 to 2020.
In 2021, Glenn was hired as the Lions defensive coordinator. He has served in that role for the past four seasons and is now getting a shot at becoming a head coach.

Glenn landing a head coach position after only 10 years of coaching is quite impressive. Considering he is being interviewed by most teams looking for a head coach, it would be believed that one team might hire him.
For the Patriots, they will need to look elsewhere. The team just wrapped up an interview with former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel, who is the favorite to land the position.
