The Detroit Lions soap opera of injuries continues, but this time around it's with some optimism.
Running back David Montgomery may not have suffered a season-ending injury after all as there is a "path forward" to a quicker recovery according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.
"After #Lions RB David Montgomery spent the last few days consulting with medical experts, sources are now optimistic that the star avoided the season-ending surgery that was initially feared," said Rapoport on X. "Montgomery will rehab with the hope that he can return at some point this postseason."
Following an MCL injury he gained in Sunday's 48-42 loss to the Buffalo Bills, the initial tests on Montgomery's knee led to reports of a season-ending fate.
