GB News: Lizzie Cundy calls for Rachel Reeves' resignation

GB News saw socialite Lizzie Cundy engage in a fiery debate as she criticised Chancellor Rachel Reeves’s recent implementations of the controversial 2024 Budget.

During Nana Akua’s show, the 56-year-old stated: “I do believe she should resign, do the right thing and go, and go now and go quickly.

“Before she ruins this country and it’s already going down and we need to save it and we won’t with her because I’m honest, I don’t think she has a clue, Nana.”

Lizzie continued: “She doesn’t know what she’s doing, she’s not qualified and we’ve seen it.”

However, commentator Jonathan Lis disputed: “Well, she was an economist, she did study economy,” as Lizzie hit back: “They’ve given billions to climate aid while letting our own pensioners freeze this winter.”

The TV star debated: “It’s not right and what they’re doing to the farmers is heartbreaking, it’s heartbreaking what they’re doing, and we can see that their passion.

“I have to say, the protest I was there, how they protest was incredible.

“From generations to generations, their whole lives, their whole way of life being ruined and it has to stop, she has to go and go now.”

Jonathan argued: “No, I don’t think he has to go, it’s completely preposterous to say that she should go.

“When you look at the absolute wreck of the last government at the kind of people that they put up to run this economy.

“They had people like Liz Truss and Kwasi Kwarteng, a few days after Liz Truss took office the pound literally fell to the lowest it’s ever been against the dollar.”

As Lizzie hit back: “But Rishi got it up,” Jonathan stated: “And it’s still lower than it was before Brexit by the way.”

However, as the presenter quipped: “Rishi got it up, and she’s bringing it down,” he added: “The point is Rachel Reeves, she’s been elected, she’s on a parliament elected government, they have a right and mandate to steer the economy in the way they see fit.”
