Long wait for more Fortnite x DC collabs reportedly ending soon

The long wait for another Fortnite x DC collab could end soon, according to reports that Epic is meeting with the DC Studios boss about adding more skins.

Outfits modeled after DC characters have been released in Fortnite with great irregularity over the years. The first of such collaborations hit the Item Shop with a Catwoman skin during Chapter 1 in 2019.

But before Batman and Harley Quinn returned to the shop in December 2024, DC characters hadn’t appeared since Black Adam debuted in October 2022 for a movie-branded crossover.

Fortnite insider ShiinaBR claims they heard Multiversus, which entered early access in July 2022, was what put a stop to the battle royale’s DC collaborations. However, the drought may be ending based on new reports.

Fortnite devs reportedly working with James Gunn on DC skins collab

Media personality Brandon Davis visited DC Studios and met with co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran about the current state of affairs.

One detail Davis said he learned during the trip is that DC does plan on working with Epic Games for future Fortnite crossovers. The Phase Hero host told viewers the following (via Loolo on Twitter/X):

“They’re having conversations with Fortnite, and James Gunn is giving notes and approvals for character designs coming to Fortnite.”

The extent of these plans remains a mystery for the time being, so there’s no word on when players can expect these collabs to arrive or which characters may appear.

Yet, it’s worth noting that James Gunn’s Superman film will fly into theaters this summer in July; thus, a skin modeled after the Man of Steel suit worn by David Corenswet doesn’t seem beyond the realm of possibility.

Of course, there exists a treasure trove of other character designs from which Epic Games could pull from for inspiration. Fans of Fortnite and DC will have to wait and see what the two companies decide.
