Lorraine Kelly took a sharp dig at Richard Madeley, star of ITV's Good Morning Britain, while hosting Have I Got News For You.
Joined by team captains Paul Merton and Ian Hislop, as well as comedian Maisie Adam and journalist Matt Chorley, the Scots star kept her composure as she read from the autocue. With a deadpan delivery, she remarked: "In other news, Rachel Reeves has been accused of lying on her CV.
"But we've all done that, haven't we? For years, I've claimed to be friends with Richard Madeley."
The remark left the audience and panel laughing.
Lorraine's jibe comes after reports that she and Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid are frustrated with ITV executives for directing top-tier guests to This Morning, despite the show’s falling ratings.
As reported by The Sun, both Susanna and Lorraine have expressed their dissatisfaction, claiming they're being overlooked for interviews with A-list stars.
Meanwhile, since joining This Morning in March, Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard have already interviewed major celebrities such as Ryan Gosling, Meghan Trainor, and Steve Carell.
Since the new hosts took over from Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, the show has seen a loss of half a million viewers. Ben and Cat’s debut in March attracted over a million viewers, but by May, that figure had dropped to under 500,000.
A source claimed there was tension within the production teams, stating: "Susanna has been outspoken about wanting more high-profile guests and is annoyed they’re being directed elsewhere."
"Lorraine shares the same frustration."
The source added: "It seems like A-list stars are being sent to This Morning to help boost its struggling ratings."

This comes after Lorraine candidly discussed her fears of her career coming to an end early on in her time with GBTV, sharing that she learned a "very valuable lesson" just months after the birth of her daughter Rosie.
She shared that the show’s bosses informed her by phone, telling her they had “found someone else.” This left Lorraine worried about how she would manage her mortgage and care for her newborn.
In a recent appearance on the Show podcast by Sheer Luxe, Lorraine opened up about her fears of her TV career coming to an end. She shared: “I used to I did, you know what it’s like, being a freelancer, you’re living from contract-to-contract and when Rosie was really small, in fact, when she was born, they phoned me up a week before and said ‘look, we’ve got someone else".
“So that was really scary because we had a mortgage, we had a baby, we had all these things and I thought ‘what am I going to do’ but as luck would have it, I did get asked to do a mother and baby slot on breakfast television and I thought well, you know, all of your instincts are going ‘I’m not going to do that you rotters’."
From this Lorraine got her own famous presenting show 'Lorraine' that January.
