From a best-selling debut novel to a BAFTA award for her services to TV, Lorraine Kelly has had a memorable 2024.
However, she counts her biggest achievement as becoming a grandmother for the first time. The ITV star's daughter Rosie and her partner Steve Smith welcomed a child over the summer - and it's something Lorraine had been eagerly awaiting.
Yesterday, she posted a photo of herself cradling young Billie in her arms, admitting she felt "pure joy". "Well what a year it has been. Feeling very very lucky!" she cheerily announced over on her Instagram account to more than half a million followers.
"Obviously the most amazing thing was baby Billie coming into the world on August 29th. She’s such an angel and Rosie and her Steve are brilliant parents. Being a granny is just pure joy," Lorraine gushed.
Reminiscing over recent events, she reflected: "The year kicked off back in January when I was on The Masked Singer as a very out of tune owl - it was great such great fun! [Then] my first novel “The Island Swimmer” was published in February and made number 2 on the Sunday Times Best Seller List which I really didn’t expect!"

"I was honoured to be given a special BAFTA award for being on breakfast for 40 years," she continued.
"As if all that wasn’t enough I had my portrait painted by Brogan Bertie (Sky Arts portrait artist of the year) and it’s hanging in the Scottish Portrait Gallery."
Meanwhile, Lorraine was also thrilled that an ITV documentary on her life has been created, as it's a way for her to explain her past to Billie when she's older.
Other proud moments included officiating at the blessing of two of her show's viewers, Luke and Gavin, to mark a decade-long gay marriage.

Elsewhere on the show, "The fabulous Marti Pellow joined forces with our Change and Check choir and we released a version of LOVE IS ALL AROUND that went to number one.
"We also performed at the Royal Variety Show at The Albert Hall which was surreal. Our BabyBank campaign helped so many mums and little ones.
"This is all down to me having the best team on TV!! I am so lucky to work with them and we are all looking forward to 2025 - so many exciting plans."
There was tragedy amongst triumph as Lorraine's brother-in-law Gordon and her uncles Billy and Neil died in 2024 - but she's relieved that her unwell mum is "continuing to defy the odds" and courageously carry on.
She added knowingly: "Being a great-grandmother has given her a new lease of life."
