Love Island's Kaz Crossley's heartbreaking reason for complete hair transformation

16 hours ago 3

Kaz Crossley has signed up for a second chance at love, joining the All Stars line up for the new season of Love Island, and fans cant believe how different she looks.

Kaz first appeared on Love Island back in 2018, looking completely different with long blonde locks. Now back for her second stint on the ITV2 reality show, the star is sporting a new stylish blonde pixie cut, and the reason behind the transformation is heartwarming.

Back in 2023, Kaz opened up to her followers about her battle with alopecia which she developed after being detained at Abu Dhabi airport before being held in a Dubai prison due to an alleged drug offence.

At the time she took to Instagram, saying: “But due to recent stress, I’m experiencing hair loss. It’s got a lot thinner, I also have a small bald patch right at the front of my head."

Kaz confessed that the hair loss was affecting her confidence, saying it was only "getting worse".

The Love Island star has been extremely open about her journey with alopecia

But the influencer soon took the condition in her stride and began to ask her followers for advice and support. Soon, a newly confident Kaz started speaking out about her experiences with alopecia - in a bid to raise awareness and let other sufferers know they are not alone.

She told her following: "We are too blessed to be stressed let it out and keep going. You’ve got this."

After struggling with alopecia for over a year, Kaz decided to chop her shoulder length hair off and donate it to a very worthy charity - Little Lady Locks, which is dedicated to providing tailor made wigs to children under 18 suffering from hair loss, all free of charge.

Kaz shaved her head with the support of four brave girls, who all received wigs from Little Lady Locks after suffering from hair loss due to cancer and alopecia.

Sharing the heartwarming moment with her Instagram followers last year, Kaz said: "So yesterday I decided to cut all my hair off- to create a wig for a little girl who needs it. I’m determined to spread awareness of this beautiful charity and hope you all see my dedication to this cause."

Kaz has continued to support the Little Lady Locks charity and she ran the Manchester Marathon in April of last year to raise money to keep the charity afloat.

Kaz will be joining the likes of Luca Bish, Curtis Pritchard, Elma Pazar and Gabby Allen as they return to the Love Island villa on January 13, in a second attempt to find love.
