Lulu has opened up on her career, saying there were points where she could have ended up like Liam Payne due to the pressures of fame.
Stand in host for Lorraine, Ranvir Singh was conducting the interview with the Scots singer where they were discussing her upcoming memoir and biopic.
Chat turned to Perrie Edwards' interview with Ferne Cotton on her Happy Place podcast, where they spoke about the pressures of being a celebrity and also the death of One Direction star Liam Payne, who died earlier this month after falling from a balcony in Buenos Aires.
Ranvir said: "We talk a lot about the pressures of fame, and I think it's different these days, we spoke earlier about Perrie Edwards talking about Liam Payne and all these difficult circumstances."
Lulu said: "I mean that is, doing this memoir and the biopic, this is what I'm going to be able to address, and I don't think I have, even doing my tour, the people that came they forgotten I've done the Bond song, and worked with David Bowie and all the different things that I've done and been working and then Take That...and it's still going. When Liam died, it was such a kick in the gut and a kind of reminder that 'this could have been you, this could have been you, this could have been you'."
Ranvir said: "Did the pressure ever get too much?"
Lulu added: "You'll have to read the book. I'm not saying anything in a serious way, I'm an optimistic person, so I'm very fortunate. I've had really good people around me but the actual true story of my life will be in the memoir and it will be in the biopic because I've never been as vulnerable as I have allowed myself to be at this point in time. It's about time I didn't just put on a brave face, I told the truth.
"It's not going to be a misery but it's kind of a success story but I know I didn't end up like Liam but it could so have so easily happened but a lot of my peers ended up the same way."
