M&S x Sienna Miller Is Back With The Best Collection Yet – And Those Sell-Out Jeans Have Returned

3 weeks ago 3

With the internet's collective crush on Adam Brody, the return of boho and our ongoing obsession with everything Sienna Miller wears, you'd be forgiven for thinking it was 2006. Therein lies the magic of Miller's style, however; nearly 20 years after she made us swoon over studded belts and Chloé bags, her influencer is as strong as ever. Stronger, perhaps, since she joined forces with M&S, cleverly leveraging the high interest in her personal wardrobe, along with her sheer selling power, to produce a design collaboration which launched earlier this year. Having enjoyed sell-out success with the first drop, Miller is promising that the second will furnish your party wardrobe.

As ever, the collection is packed with nods to pieces that can be found in Miller's own wardrobe – or that are, at the very least, inspired by some of her favourite vintage finds. From a lace-trim maxi dress, reminiscent of pre-loved designs Miller would find amongst the stalls of Portobello Market, to a colourful sequin mini that pays homage to Sienna’s love of David Bowie in his Ziggy Stardust era, this bears all the hallmarks of what Miller does best: her going-out wardrobe.

There are faux-fur coats with Vivienne Westwood-inspired buckles (a nod to the Pirate boots Miller wore a lot during the noughties), tiger print velvet suits, pretty silk blouses and a heavily-embellished 1920s-inspired co-ord, consisting of intricately-beaded wide leg trousers and a matching top. There are jewel-tone heels, destined to dance the night away, as well as oversized clutch bags (in the same tiger print as the suit, and which can also be worn as a cross-body bag) and matching belts. There is a shaggy black jacket, which looks exactly like the type of thing Miller would throw on over just about anything with a red lip and look ready for any event, as well as a white three-piece suit, worn by Miller just this week.

Among these party pieces, however, remain the dressed-down staples that were so popular in the last collection – namely, the barrel leg jeans, which completely sold out when they launched in the summer. This time, they're available in black and white, with a slightly more exaggerated curve to the leg.

'It was an absolute pleasure to be invited back by the M&S team,' said Miller of her new collection. 'I loved working on the debut collection and couldn’t wait to do it all over again. This second collection is very much a party edit for the festive season. It’s got tailoring, faux fur, party dresses, statement prints, embellishment, co-ordinating accessories and also my favourite jeans from the first collection, in two new washes. Seeing my designs in the real world is so rewarding. I love how each individual wears and styles them and I can’t wait to see their reaction to round two this winter.'

Launching today in 41 stores across the UK, as well as online, the reaction will no doubt be just as good – if not better – as it was first time around. With M&S promising us all a slice of Miller's style, it's difficult to imagine who could resist.

To help you decide which pieces to add to your basket, we tried on the collection to bring you the very best bits. Scroll on to see our verdict...

The Faux Fur Buckle Coat

Hannah Banks-Walker, head of fashion commerce, says: 'The leather buckle straps are clearly a nod to Vivienne Westwood – and they give this jacket an edge, elevating it above a classic faux fur style. I like it over a long skirt or dress for a high/low vibe.'

The White Suit

Julia Harvey, shopping editor, says: 'As worn by Sienna herself to the launch event, this white three-piece suit will be a wardrobe mainstay for years to come - providing you steer clear of any red wine for the foreseeable. I love the fit of the jacket and would happily wear it over jeans, too.'M&S

The Red Dress

Dayna Southall, head of social media, says: 'The fit of this dress is really flattering and I felt super glamorous wearing it. It will definitely be the piece I reach for from now on when I need to seriously dress up. There’s nothing better than a dress that makes you feel sexy, and this does just that.'

The Sell-Out Jeans

Lauren Cunningham, acting senior fashion news editor, says: 'Jeans and a nice top is the go-to outfit combo for good reason. But this isn't just any jeans and a nice top, oh no, it's the sell-out M&S x Sienna Miller jeans that have returned in two new shades and a sparkly ribbed top that's much more comfortable that it may look. If you missed out last time, best get in line now.'

The It Knit

Hannah Banks-Walker, head of fashion commerce, says: 'Pictures don't really do this jumper justice. It's heavyweight and has the perfect slouchy fit, making it ideal to throw on with jeans or, as I've done here, with a silky skirt and a pair of heels for a low-key party outfit. I bet this is one of the first pieces to sell out.'

The Vintage-Inspired Dress

Julia Harvey, shopping editor, says: 'This really does feel like a vintage treasure I've stumbled upon – without all the hard work of trawling through endless rails of clothes. I would wear this with boots, under an oversized knit by day. For the evening, I'll wear with gold jewellery and an oversized blazer if I need an extra layer. I can already imagine wearing this dress next summer with boho-vibe sandals and sunnies, too.'

The Tiger Print Suit

Dayna Southall, head of social media, says: 'This three-piece suit had me feeling like the 5th member of The Cheetah Girls and definitely surprised me. Even though it came up a little short on the legs (I’m 5"6), this suit is every bit as warm (read: practical for winter) as it is a style statement.'

The Party Top

Julia Harvey, shopping editor, says: 'Looking for the perfect jeans-and-a-nice-top top? This is it. This lacy number has a bit of everything from sparkles to ruffled cuffs and, as we enter into silly season, I already know I’d wear this top more times that I’d care to admit.'

The Great Accessories

Lauren Cunningham, acting senior fashion news editor, says: The mob wife look trended for good reason and, clearly, Sienna Miller got the message. The faux fur coat screams 2010's glam (I've even spied a pic of Miller in a similar style 14 years ago) while the zebra print clutch and belt add a more subtle nod that's sure to elevate any outfit. The bag is a personal fave – it's the perfect oversized clutch or can be worn as a cross-body bag.'

The Sequin Dress

Dayna Southall, head of social media, says: 'I’m normally against sequins because they can feel a bit much, but this dress is perfect for party season. And if you’re someone like me, who doesn’t like tight dresses on a night out, this dress has plenty of room for movement and Prosecco.'

The Green Dress

Lauren Cunningham, acting senior fashion news editor, says: 'With party season coming up, this silky green dress is sure to tick plenty of boxes no matter if you're searching for a Christmas Day frock or a slighty sexy office party look – hello thigh high split. Just be sure to give it a good steam or an iron first to get rid of the dressing room wrinkles you can spot on me...!'

The Velvet Suit

Julia Harvey, shopping editor, says: 'Is it really party season if someone doesn’t have a velvet suit on? Answer, no. This deep khaki duo is designed to be worn open and would look great over a slinky cami or a boho-esque blouse. Plus, the trousers are slightly flared, meaning they’re a flattering fit.'

The David Bowie Dress

Hannah Banks-Walker, head of fashion commerce, says: 'Sequin mini dresses aren't usually my thing, but this one has a big velvet bow at the back, which won me over. Miller said it was inspired by David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust era, which is probably the ultimate party inspiration. This dress happens to also be very flattering, although if you're between sizes I would recommend sizing up.'
