Madonna has split from her 28-year-old boyfriend, it has been reported.

The Hung Up hitmaker, 66, was linked to footballer Akeem Morris this summer, as the pair jetted away together and were pictured looking cosy.

However, it seems the romance wasn’t meant to be and it’s being reported the pair have split after running into the ‘same issue’ the Queen of Pop had with other recent flames.

‘Madonna ran into the same issue with this boytoy as she has with all of her recent men,’ a source told the Daily Mail.

‘The age difference became an issue,’ the source continued. ‘They come from different time periods.’

They added: ‘When the globe-trotting stopped, the excitement stopped as well.’

While it doesn’t appear to have worked out, the source explained that the relationship simply ‘ran its course’ and there are ‘no hard feelings or drama’.

‘It was just time for them to go their separate ways. Akeem is now living on an island, and Madonna is obviously in her UES pad working on her biopic,’ they added.

The Material Girl hitmaker – who recently went viral for eating soup topless – has known Akeem for years, as the pair worked on her Paper Magazine shoot in 2022.

The pair were linked months after her reported split from boxer Josh Popper, who she met through her son David Banda, after he took lessons from him in New York.

However, it wasn’t to last and the Vogue singer’s busy schedule – including tour preparations – got in the way, meaning their romance ‘fizzled out’.

This latest update from Madonna comes after the star visited her brother’s grave a few weeks following his death last month.

Christopher Ciccone died on October 4 at the age of 63 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

It’s been a particularly heartbreaking time for the US pop icon, as Ciccone died just weeks after Madonna’s stepmother, Joan Clare Ciccone, died from a ‘very aggressive’ cancer.

Madonna’s biological mother – who she was named after – died in 1963 at the age of 30 after being diagnosed with breast cancer when the singer was just five.

In a raw Instagram post earlier this year, Madonna revealed she has a complicated relationship with sleep after her mother’s death.

‘I stood on stage for 81 shows staring up at the beautiful face of my mother and wondering what she must’ve been thinking as she waved goodbye to me from her hospital window. I stepped into the station wagon and shut the door not knowing it was the last time I’d see her,’ she remembered, talking about a moment in the show when she sang to a picture of her late mum.

She continued: ‘I stood on stage for 81 shows staring up at the beautiful face of my mother and wondering what she must’ve been thinking as she waved goodbye to me from her hospital window.

Metro has contacted Madonna’s representatives for comment.
