Mafia The Old Country game’s first look has been dropped in the Game Awards 2024. The game is all set to the players back in time to the Mediterranean era’s Sicili, specifically around the 1900s. The game will definitely bring gang fights along with the elements that will complement the era the game is set up in. The recently dropped trailer of the game shows us the beginning rituals of the mob family. The ‘bound by blood’ oath will be seen prominently in the game along with a new protagonist named Enzo Favara.

Mafia: The Old Country trailer details

Mafia The Old Country is going to be a prequel story and the events of the game will take place before those we saw in the first Mafia game. Instead of taking place in America, the game will be set in Italy. Here, the players will get to see the Cosa Nostra family, a true to life historical protection racketeering alliance. The origins of the family date back to the 19th century.

In the game, the players will be supposed to don the role of Enzo Favara who is a new young lad. Now, it is unclear whether Enzo is going to have a role or is related to the future Mafia characters. Some theories around the game suggest that he became Ennio Salieri after his migration to America.

Now, high chances are that the character’s Favara surname is coincidentally similar to Fratellanza di Favara, a notorious criminal syndicate operating in the Agrigento province of the Southern city in the nineteenth century. Coming back to the game, it will take place in San Celeste which is a fictional coastal town in Sicily also mentioned in the opening chapter of Mafia II. The game will be released for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox in Summer 2025.
