Map Shows Kardashian Family Homes Surrounded by Los Angeles Fires

Several homes owned by the Kardashian family in Hidden Hills, California, are located very close to ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles.

Newsweek has reached out to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) by phone for comment on Friday.

Why It Matters

Over the past few days, at least 10 people have died after multiple wildfires erupted in Los Angeles County. The Palisades, Eaton, Kenneth, Lidia and Hurst fires have grown to a total of more than 36,500 acres combined.

The newest of these fires to ignite, the Kenneth fire, sparked on Thursday. This fire is the one closest to the Kardashian homes in Hidden Hills. However, firefighters have already brought the blaze under control and have contained 35 percent of the fire.

What to Know

Countless celebrities are among the thousands of people fleeing the Los Angeles area as the flames grow out of control.

The Kenneth fire is now more than 1,000 acres in size and is burning immediately to the west and northwest of the Hidden Hills neighborhood, where Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, and Kris Jenner live.

Kim Kardashian lives in a $60 million mansion she built with her now ex-husband Kanye West, now legally known as Ye. Her sister, Khloé Kardashian, lives nearby in a mansion next to their mother, Kris Jenner.

TMZ reported that of the Kardashian and Jenner families, Kim, Kourtney, Khloé, Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner, Kris and Rob have evacuated the area.

On Thursday, Kourtney Kardashian shared a prayer from Khloé Kardashian asking for protection and peace during the fires.

"Heavenly Father, We come before You in urgent need of Your protection and peace. We ask that You watch over all the lives affected by the fires in California. Please bring comfort to those who are in harm's way," she shared.

However, some people criticized Kourtney's post, claiming that the Kardashian family should donate to organizations helping fight the fires or helping evacuees instead of offering their thoughts and prayers.

In 2018, Kim Kardashian and Ye hired private firefighters to protect their mansion from the Woolsey fire, which burned very close.

Evacuations for the Kenneth fire have already been lifted as of Thursday night. However, several other wildfires continue to burn nearby, which include the Palisades fire at 20,438 acres, the Hurst fire at 771 acres, and the Eaton fire at 13,690 acres.

What People Are Saying

California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) in an update about the Kenneth fire: "The fire has burned approximately 1,000 acres and is currently 35% percent contained. All Los Angeles County evacuation orders and warnings issued due to the Kenneth Fire have been lifted as of 8:00PM on January 9, 2025."

California Governor Gavin Newsom wrote on X, formerly Twitter, on Thursday night: "The #KennethFire is 1,000 acres and now 35 percent contained. The forward rate of spread has been stopped. Grateful for the heroic firefighters from Los Angeles and Ventura counties who are actively engaged on the scene, deploying both ground crews and aerial resources."

What Happens Next

A red flag warning will remain in place for the Los Angeles area through Friday. The warning is put in place when environmental conditions are favorable to rapid fire spread.
