Mark Wright's family is in mourning following the death of his grandfather, Eddie, who passed away at the age of 92.
The ex-TOWIE heartthrob's granddad died on Monday night (January 6), with his loved ones at his side.
A spokesperson relayed to MailOnline: "Mark's grandad passed away last night. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones."
Eddie had been contending with health struggles since a fall in June of the previous year that led to hospitalisation. On Father's Day, 'Big' Mark Wright - Mark's father - took to Instagram to share an emotional message: "Happy fathers day to the best unfortunately in hospital at the moment after a fall a couple of days ago but dad I'm on my way up to see you now keep strong xxx."
Fans were introduced to the spirited Eddie, a one-time boxing champ and paramedic, during an episode of the BBC's 'Who Do You Think You Are?' featuring Mark in 2019.
The TV presenter, 37, took part in the family history show to resolve long-standing questions about their ancestry, surmising they had Italian roots.

Mark has previously expressed: "I've wanted to find out our family history forever, as my grandad has always guessed where we're from. But nobody's ever known. He was told my family of his that we were Italian and to be able to give this back to him is great. He's done so much for us, he's our king. It's hard to repay him but this was that moment before it's too late."
Hot on the heels of happier announcements, there's sombre news following Mark and Michelle Keegan sharing their excitement over expecting their first child together. Just weeks ago, Michelle, 37, an actress, took to Instagram with a heartfelt image showcasing her baby bump, as a beaming Mark stood by.
The caption read: "2025 is going to be a special one for us."
