"Today we save America!"
That's what Eric Trump declared on X(formerly Twitter) as his father, Donald Trump, was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States in January 2025. But while most people recognize the famous "Trump" name, who exactly is Eric?
Born January 6, 1984, Eric, 41, is the third child of the 78-year-old POTUS and his first wife, Ivana, who passed away in July 2022. He grew up alongside his older siblings, Donald Jr., 47, and Ivanka, 43, and shares the Trump family spotlight with his half-siblings, Tiffany, 31, and Barron, 18.
After earning a degree in finance and management from Georgetown University in 2006, Eric became the Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization. According to the company's website, he oversees all aspects of management and operation of the global real estate empire — this includes "new project acquisition, development, and construction" across various sectors.
Fast forward to 2008, and Eric met Lara Yunaska, a communications graduate from North Carolina State University. The pair crossed paths through mutual friends, and Lara admitted she didn't immediately realize Eric came from such a famous family.
"I did not know who his dad was," she revealed on her podcast The Right View last year. "I didn't know his last name initially, I just knew I met some really tall guy, his name was Eric and we had a moment." After six years of dating, Eric proposed in 2013, and the couple tied the knot on November 8, 2014.
Today, Lara, 42, plays a significant role in both her family and the political sphere. Formerly a producer for Inside Edition, she transitioned to political advising, working on Donald's 2016 and 2020 campaigns. Last March, Lara was elected co-chair of the Republican National Committee, taking on a formal leadership role in the GOP.
Work aside, Eric and Lara keep busy as parents. They welcomed their first child, Eric "Luke" Trump Jr., on September 12, 2017. The proud dad shared the news on social media, writing, "@LaraLeaTrump and I are excited to announce the birth of our son, Eric "Luke" Trump at 8:50 this morning," along with a sweet snap of their newborn.
Nearly two years later, their family grew again with the arrival of their daughter, Carolina Dorothy Trump. "We love you already!" Eric wrote in another post announcing her birth on August 19, 2019.
While raising two young kids keeps the couple on their toes, balancing mom life with a busy career has been transformative for Lara. "I never imagined that the old me before kids would feel as empowered in womanhood as a mom," she told The Conservateur last August. "It is the ultimate feminist move to grow a human inside your body, push them out, and nurture them."
According to the Palm Beach Post, the family of four resides in Jupiter, Florida, where Eric and Lara moved in May 2021 after purchasing a $3.2 million home in the gated Trump National Golf Club community.
