Meijer Food Recalls: Full List of Products Impacted

There are currently 10 major recalls of products that are sold in the retail store Meijer, according to their website.

Meijer operates over 500 superstores across six Midwestern states: Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, and Wisconsin. Almost half of Meijer's stores are located in Michigan.

Why It Matters

According to a recent report from Civic Science, more than 80 percent of Americans are worried about food recalls. Nearly a third of respondents said that they were very worried. The data was based on more than 2,000 U.S. adults, collected between December 2 and 4, and then weighted to be nationally representative.

Products can be recalled for a number of reasons. Some of the grocery store's products were recalled due to possible contamination of bacteria like Listeria monocytogenes which can cause serious infections.

Systane Ultra PF Eye Drops

Product details: Alcon Laboratories is voluntarily recalling one lot (Lot 10101) of Systane Lubricant Eye Drops Ultra PF, Single Vials On-the-Go (25 count). The affected products have the UPC 3-00651-43206-0 and the expiration date September 2025.

Reason for recall: A fungal contamination observed in a sealed vial.

What you should do: Throw away or return the product to the nearest Meijer store for a full refund. Discontinue usage immediately.

A spokesperson for Alcon Laboratories told Newsweek in an email that, "On December 21, 2024, Alcon conducted a voluntary recall in the United States of one (1) lot of Systane Lubricant Eye Drops Ultra PF, Single Vials On-the-Go, 25 count (Lot 10101) out of an abundance of caution following a customer complaint. At this time, there are no confirmed infections related to this recall, and presence of foreign material remains isolated to the original single vial returned by the referenced customer. Our priority remains ensuring the safety of our products while maintaining compliance with all regulatory bodies."

Cucumbers Bulk Pamela Brand PLU 4062

Product details: Fresh cucumbers with "Pamela" brand, identified under PLU 4062 as "SCALE CUCUMBERS EA" and originate from Mexico. Manufactured by: Baloian Farms.

What you should do: Throw away or return the product to the nearest Meijer store for a full refund. Discontinue usage immediately.

Reason for recall: The lid threads can shrink under heat and pressure, leading to detachment and potential burns. Manufactured by: Stanley 1913.

What you should do: Discontinue usage immediately. Reach out to Stanley 1913 for a free replacement lid that will work with the existing product.

A spokesperson for Stanley 1913 told Newsweek in an email that, "Stanley 1913 is voluntarily recalling the Switchback [12 oz and 16 oz] and Trigger Action [12 oz, 16 oz and 20 oz] Travel Mugs, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). We have addressed the issue and are offering a free replacement lid to work with the existing product. At Stanley 1913, we are committed to constant improvement and are focused on creating quality products that are built for life."

Fresh Gourmet Tortilla Strips Santa Fe Style

Product details: Sugar Foods has recalled 3.5-ounce pouches of Fresh Gourmet Tortilla Strips Santa Fe Style (UPC 7 87359 17504 6, Best By Date June 20, 2025) due to undeclared wheat allergens. Manufactured by Sugar Foods.

Reason for recall: Undeclared allergens.

A spokesperson for Tree House Foods told Newsweek in an email that, "In October 2024, TreeHouse Foods announced a voluntary recall of all griddle products manufactured at our Brantford, Ontario, Canada, facility. The frozen toaster waffle, Belgian waffle and pancake products were recalled due to the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. We have no confirmed reports of illness or injury linked to the recalled products. As of January 2025, the Brantford facility has undergone a hygienic restoration and is once again producing griddle products for our customers."

Kodiak Frozen Waffles

Product details: Kodiak Power Waffles in Buttermilk Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Buttermilk Vanilla Thick & Fluffy, and Blueberry Thick & Fluffy varieties. Manufactured by Tree House Food.
