Mark Wright and his girlfriend Lauren Goodger had an awkward run-in just days before he shocked fans by revealing his wife, Michelle Keegan, is expecting his first ever child.
The 37-year-old former The Only Way Is Essex star had a highly publicised relationship with 38-year-old Lauren that trundled on for 10 years before they finally split for good in 2012. Mark then went on to start dating Michelle, 37, who he married in 2015 and this weekend revealed he is expecting his first child with.
While the happy news was revealed on Sunday, just over a week before, Mark and Lauren almost came face to face while he was out celebrating a family member's birthday. The reality star was out with his wife and family to celebrate Mark Wright Sr turning 68 at Sheesh in Essex, with James Argent providing the evening's entertainment.
But there was an unexpected twist when Mark Jr and his wife Michelle discovered that Lauren was in the same venue. Mark's sister Jess Wright was seen making her way into the popular Essex venue, passing Lauren's parked Range Rover on her way in. In a bid to avoid any awkward run-ins, Mark and Michelle made a discreet entrance through a fire exit in order to swerve Lauren.

Despite it being ten years since their split, it appears Mark is still keen to avoid any potential reunion. Now, just days later, Mark and Michelle have revealed they are expecting their first child together.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Mark and Michelle jointly shared an image of them looking happy together on a beach. Dressed in white, Michelle could be seen wearing a carefully styled outfit that proudly displayed her blossoming bump while she held a protective hand to her belly. And Mark was shown walking barefoot towards her. Sharing their happy news on their respective main grids, Michelle and Mark added a simple caption, writing: "2025 is going to be a special one for us…" alongside a baby face emoji and a white heart emoji.
News of the couple's pregnancy was met with messages of support and encouragement from their fans and followers. One wrote in response to their Instagram post: "Awwwww Congratulations this is amazing news." And another typed: "I’m so so happy for you guys. Just the best."
In the past, Michelle has hit out over the way women are asked about becoming mothers - when it might be unknown by the person asking the question what their scenario would be. She told the Mirror: "It's horrible. People don't know if we're trying. They don't know the background of what's happening. In this day and age, you shouldn't be asking questions like that," she declared. "I'm asked purely because I'm a woman. I'm immune to it now – it's like a reaction, and as soon as I hear it I brush it off as it's no one else's business."
