Michelle Keegan and her husband Mark Wright have announced they are expecting their first child together.

The former Coronation Street star and Netflix's Fool Me Once actress shared the happy news on Instagram with a photo of herself cradling her baby bump, standing opposite Mark, who shot to fame on reality TV show The Only Way Is Essex.

The picture, taken on a beach, shows Michelle in a white off-the-shoulder top and skirt, while Mark is dressed in a beige shirt and trousers. The post, shared on Sunday evening, was captioned "2025 is going to be a special one for us" followed by a baby emoji.

The actress was pregnant during the couple's recent trip to Spain

It's believed the adorable photo was snapped in Majorca at the beginning of November. The couple, who own a holiday home on the Spanish island, are big fans of the location, the Mirror reports.

Last month, Michelle posted pictures from the trip, cleverly hiding her bump as she told followers; "A couple of days in our favourite place before the Christmas build-up begins."

A close friend revealed that Michelle and Mark "kept their pregnancy quiet for a long time" as they wanted to savour the moment privately. A source said: "Starting a family has been something they have wanted to do for a long time."

Speaking to The Sun, the insider added: "They are both in amazing places in their careers and their family home in Essex is all completed. The timing could not have been more perfect."

They also mentioned that Mark and Michelle's "immediate family have known for a while." Michelle was seen hiding her baby bump during a recent outing in Essex when the couple narrowly missed an awkward encounter with Mark's ex-fiancée, Lauren Goodger.

Mark, 37, and Lauren, 38, had a highly publicised relationship that lasted ten years before they split in 2012. Mark then started dating Michelle, also 37, and they tied the knot in 2015.

The happy news of their pregnancy was shared this weekend. However, just over a week before the announcement, Mark and Lauren almost bumped into each other at a family birthday celebration.

Mark was out with his wife and family to celebrate his father, Mark Wright Sr's 68th birthday at Sheesh in Essex, where James Argent was providing the entertainment. But the night took an unexpected turn when Mark and Michelle realised Lauren was at the same venue.

Mark's sister Jess Wright was seen entering the popular Essex spot, passing Lauren's parked Range Rover on her way in. To avoid any uncomfortable situations, Mark and Michelle made a discreet entrance through a fire exit to avoid Lauren.

Their Range Rover was later brought around to the car park for a swift exit. Despite it being a decade since their breakup, it appears Mark is still keen to avoid any potential reunion.

Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright, both 37, started their romance in 2012, got engaged the following year and tied the knot in May 2015. The celebrity pair now reside together in Essex.

Mark's brother Josh was among those to share his joy at the couple's baby news on Sunday, commenting on the post: "Over the moon for you both and can't wait for our boys to meet your little one."

TOWIE star James Argent also expressed his excitement about becoming an uncle to their new arrival. He wrote: "I love you and I'm so happy for you both. (You're) going to be amazing parents."

The actress made sure her bump was kept out of the snaps shared on social media

Mark's mum shared her excitement about welcoming another grandchild as she reposted the same announcement photo on her Instagram. Celebrities including Geordie Shore's Vicky Pattison, former Coronation Street actress Georgia May Foote, Emmerdale's Danny Miller and The Saturdays' Rochelle Humes were among those sending their best wishes to the couple.

Michelle launched her acting career on TV as Tina McIntyre in ITV soap opera Coronation Street, joining the cast in 2008. After leaving the show in 2014, she went on to play corporal Georgie Lane in the popular army drama Our Girl and Erin Croft in the comedy-drama Brassic.

She is set to reprise her role as Kate Thorne in another series of Ten Pound Poms, a drama about a group of Brits who decide to leave post-war Britain.

After his stint on reality TV, Wright gained more fame when he finished as a runner-up on ITV's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

in 2011 and was a finalist in BBC 's Strictly Come Dancing in 2014. He is now a presenter on Heart radio 's Saturday afternoon slot.
