Milo Ventimiglia Heartbreakingly Visits Destroyed Home As Wife Prepares To Give Birth To Their First Child 'Any Day Now'!

Milo Ventimiglia is one of many who lost their home in the devastating LA wildfires.

CBS Evening News was with the actor as he tearfully came to check on his home, where he and his wife, Jarah Mariano, have been preparing to welcome their first child together. As he drove to the Malibu property in a segment aired on Thursday, he saw it all burnt to the ground, remarking, “Wow, man. Toast.” Oof.

While holding back tears, the 47-year-old called the sight of his neighborhood and house “heavy,” expressing:

“You start thinking about all the memories and the different parts of the house and whatnot, and then you see your neighbors’ houses and everything around and your heart just breaks.”

As mentioned, he and his wife are expecting their first baby — she’s due “any day now,” per the reporter — and they had just prepared the nursery when the Palisades Fire broke out. While they managed to escape in time on Tuesday, they watched their home get engulfed in flames via security cameras before the reality ultimately sunk in, he shared:

“I think there’s a kind of shock moment where you’re going, ‘Oh, this is real, this is happening.’ And at a certain point, we just turned it off. What good is it to continue watching? We kind of accepted the loss.”

So, so difficult, especially with a baby on the way!

As This Is Us fans know, this whole situation is also eerily similar to how his character, Jack Pearson — *spoiler alert* — dies in the show. After the family home lights on fire, he passes from smoke inhalation. Thank goodness Milo got outta there before that was a possibility! But he called it “life imitating art.” Whoa.

See him take in what’s left of his home (below):

Many other celebs have lost their homes, including his This Is Us wife, Mandy Moore. While the “main part” of her property in Altadena is thankfully intact, her home studio, garage, and back house were all destroyed. Such a tough time for so many right now. Our thoughts are with them all!
