Mirimam Margolyes has issued an expletive laden video message to the Government urging action on Trophy Hunting.

In the short but effective video, award-winning actress and colourful personality Miriam brands trophy hunters “a**eholes” and uses the f-word to make her strong appeal. Blackadder star Miriam, who is a proud supporter of the Campaign to Ban Trophy Hunting, which is calling for the end of trophy hunting imports to the UK.

She said: “Trophy hunting? Poop! Get it banned. I think trophy hunters are the scum of the earth. F**k em, and I’m trying to help get trophy hunting banned, will you do the same?

“They’re such a**eholes! Beautiful animals destroyed, for what? Please get trophy hunting banned. No more dithering, no more delays, get the ban done.”

Sir Ranulph Fiennes, who is a leading ambassador and supporter of the campaign, sent Miriam’s appeal via email to a host of MPs.

The public are also being urged to write to their MPs so that they can show the groundswell of support that exists for enacting the new law.

Eduardo Goncalves, founder of the Campaign to Ban Trophy Hunting, said: “Miriam Margolyes speaks for the whole nation with her description of trophy hunters.

“They are sick, twisted individuals who get high off killing innocent animals for kicks. No wonder nine out of 10 voters want it banned straight away.

“The Government should listen to Miriam and people everywhere who want this banned.”

Earlier this year, the Harry Potter actress caused waves when she revealed she has concerns about adult Harry Potter fans. The beloved actress appeared in the second film, Chamber of Secrets, as Professor Sprout, a teacher who taught Herbology. While she's been a popular member of the franchise ever since, she's not in Potter fans' good books.

Speaking to New Zealand's 1News, Miriam said: "Harry Potter - I worry about Harry Potter fans because they should be over that by now. It was 25 years ago and it's for children."

She explained that she films videos for Cameo, and in requests she's often told that people are having a Harry Potter themed wedding. Miriam added: "I think, 'Gosh, what's their first night of fun going to be?' I can't even think about it."
