Molly-Mae Hague has opened up about the 'trauma' she experienced starting her journey as a new mother, while navigating the challenges of co-parenting with former partner Tommy Fury.

The Love Island power couple's split, after a five-year romance, left fans reeling this summer. Their seperation drew comparisons to the dramatic love story of King Charles and Princess Diana.

In an emotional August Instagram post that sent her followers into a whirl, the 25-year-old influencer expressed her deep sadness at announcing the end of her relationship, but shared her eternal gratitude for her 'beautiful daughter'. From the outset, Molly-Mae has embraced motherhood, frequently sharing adorable moments from her £3.8 million Cheshire home.

Despite the idyllic updates, she hasnt shied away from discussing the more challenging aspects of raising a child, particularly the trying newborn phase.

During a frank discussion with British Vogue, Molly admitted: "It really took me by surprise how much I struggled with becoming a mum. The newborn trenches were... I don't think I'm over them yet. I still hold a lot of trauma from that time of my life," reports the Mirror.

Molly has opened up about the challenging early days of motherhood, revealing that boxer beau Tommy Fury's return from Saudi Arabia was even more emotional than their daughter's birth. In a heartfelt vlog from March 2023, Molly shared her feelings about Tommy's absence following Bambi's arrival.

Reflecting on those initial weeks, Molly confessed: "I almost feel like the day he came home from Saudi Arabia from the fight, it sounds crazy, but it was almost better than the day Bambi was born. The day Bambi was born was the best day of my entire life, but on that day I knew that our journey as a family hadn't started yet because Tommy had to go away again."

She continued: "Tommy was like gone. I knew we weren't going to be a family until the fight was done and he got back. We had four weeks of that until he was going to be home. The first four weeks of Bambi's life I really did do by myself and I was home alone with her."

During a Q&A with her sister Zoe, Molly also expressed some regrets about how she handled visitors after giving birth, saying: "I basically said no visitors and I wanted to be able to say I had all this time with just me and her to bond.

"The first night with Bambi in the house, I was by myself. Now I look back, it sends shivers down my spine, I had no idea what I was doing."

During a candid interview with Vogue, Molly opened up about co-parenting with her former beau Tommy, detailing how they collaboratively ushered little Bambi into nursery life. She highlighted the success of their arrangement, stating confidently: "We're both being, like, really mature about it."

Molly also expressed her delight at Bambi's current age, exclaiming her love for the toddler phase with enthusiasm: "I absolutely adore it. If I could have a million more babies that are at this stage, I would do it."
