A mom was left on the verge of tears after she asked her daughter to tidy up her toys.
Amber Henry, based in Toronto, had put her 3-year-old to sleep and was getting ready to turn in herself when she discovered her daughter's surprising cleanup efforts.
In a clip on TikTok, the 35-year-old (@amberhenryy) explained that she had asked her daughter to clean up her toy area before bedtime but hadn't thought much about it afterward. "I didn't check to see what she did or whatever, I just put her to sleep," she said.
When Henry came downstairs later that evening, she couldn't cope with what she found. "She lined up her shoes. She hung up her purse. All her aprons in her toy area were literally on the floor," she explained to viewers in the clip.
What truly touched the mom's heart was her daughter's attention to detail. Flower petals had fallen onto the credenza and her daughter took cleaning to the next level. "She put them in the water. She put the flower petals in the water to clean up the flower petals," she said.
"I was really emotional when I saw that she had put her things away, but the level of detail just seems so beautifully sweet given that she's so little. It made me realize how capable and kind she is," Henry told Newsweek.
Henry's clip clocked up 2 million views and over 370,000 likes. Other users also flooded the comments section with praise for the little girl.
"I love her idea of putting the petals in the vase, only a child would think of that, and boots lined up was so stinkin' cute," one user wrote.
"Give her the biggest snuggles ever and tell her [how] proud you are of her! That is such a good job for a little 3-year-old," commented another. "The shoes together actually sent me," wrote a third.
Speaking to her daughter's personality, Henry told Newsweek, "I think it showcases how smart, attentive and thoughtful she is."
The mom of one was unprepared for her daughter's thoughtfulness, even if she was just cleaning up her toys.
"My heart is in so much pain because how did I create the sweetest child on the face of the planet? I'm legit gonna cry," she concluded the TikTok video.
