A horse's way of stopping his owner from leaving both him and his sibling in a gated area has left viewers online in hysterics.

The youngest of the pair was filmed standing guard in front of the gated area, in an attempt to try to stop their owner from leaving. After seeing how reluctant to move the horse was, their older sibling decided to jump in and help delay their owner's departure—albeit, with much gentler manners.

The hilarious moment had been shared to TikTok by their owner under @xelliemay23xx on December 29. The short clip, which has been viewed more than 10.4 million times to date, has drawn a flurry of amused comments from viewers online. Newsweek reached out to @xelliemay23xx for more information via TikTok.

TikTok users were able to see the horses' owner, Ellie-May, trying to walk out of the gated area. She was stopped by the youngest horse who stood by a pillar in front of the large gate, determined to keep her close. As Ellie-May struggled to break past the animal, another horse walked over to take their own stand in front of the gate. This animal appeared to beckon the younger horse to be more gentle with their owner.

An overlaid text on the video read: "When your youngest horse won't move so your other overprotective horse steps in."
