An online content creator has flagged the 'most common culprit of condensation' which could be wreaking havoc in your home. But there's a cheap fix which could cost as little as £1.20.

When it's cold outside, and to avoid wracking up the household bills even further by using a tumble dryer, it's common for people to dry their clothes indoors.
However, if you have a lot of condensation and mould in your home, it turns out this could be the main reason. This is because the damp clothes can increase the moisture in the air, which may build up on surfaces. And if this isn't dried, it can create mould.
And mould isn't just unsightly, it can lead to respiratory issues such as asthma. But there is something you can do prevent mould forming, even if you do dry clothes indoors. Online content creator Sleek Finds on TikTok warned those who dry clothes indoors would "regret" not listening to her advice.
Showing signs of condensation on her windows, she explained: "A common culprit is drying wet clothes and towels in the house, especially in the winter months when it's absolutely freezing and very wet outside." But the content creator has found a solution - dehumidifier boxes.
According to Sleek Finds, these "work by extracting moisture from the air and trapping it" inside the container. So to prevent condensation building up on cold surfaces, which can cause mould to form, she puts one in every room.
She even puts one inside the washing machine when it's not being used, so that damp doesn't cause it to smell.
You can pick up dehumidifier boxes on Amazon. For example, a pack of 10 500ml condensation remover boxes can be purchased for £11.95 at the time of writing.

Many also sugggested purchasing an electric dehumidifier. One person said: "Get an electric dehumidifier not that dear and last for years really warm the house without heating." Howver, the condent creator added that they are "so expensive".
Many were also really happy for the advice, with one person saying: "Best advice ever. So many people blame the landlords for mould and mildew." Anohter added: "These are good but an electric dehumidifier is an even better choice." A third commented: "They work, but they take quite a while to catch the moisture. I have a small electric dehumidifier in the room where I dry my clothes, it’s perfect."
