Danny O'Carroll is the second celebrity to join the cast of Dancing with the Stars.

Danny is an actor and producer, best known for portraying Buster Brady on stage and on screen in Mrs. Brown's Boys.

He has also appeared in the Mrs. Brown’s Boys spin-off series, All Round to Mrs. Brown’s and For Facts Sake, and is currently on a nationwide tour of Ireland with Mrs. Brown’s Boys D’Live Show.

The Dubliner's castmates have a long-standing relationship with Dancing with the Stars. His aunt, Eilish O’Carroll, took part in 2019, while Rory Cowan competed for the coveted glitterball earlier this year.

Speaking about joining the line-up for series eight, Danny said: "I’ve wanted to do Dancing with the Stars for the last four years, but I have always been touring the UK with Mrs. Brown’s Boys in January, so it just wasn’t possible.

"But this year, we’re touring in Ireland for the first time in over twelve years, and I can commute to get the rehearsals in so it’s working out really well. I’m delighted to finally be able to do it."

Danny has received lots of encouragement from his Mrs Brown's Boys cast members.

He said: "I'm really taken aback at how much everybody has been behind me. My aunt Eilish is begging me to go as far as I can for her.

"I want to do the best I can. I’m not a dancer, so I'm well out of my comfort zone, but I'm going to try to do whatever I can to get to the final. I'm going to give it socks!"

Danny is the second celebrity to be announced following yesterday’s reveal of Irish model and former Miss Universe Ireland, Aishah Akorede as the first celebrity taking to the dancefloor in January. The nine remaining celebrity contestants joining the new series of Dancing with the Stars will be announced throughout the rest of this week.

Dancing with the Stars returns for a new season next month on RTE One. Jennifer Zamparelli and Doireann Garrihy return as hosts, while professional dancer Karen Byrne joins the judging panel alongside Loraine Barry, Brian Redmond and Arthur Gourounlian.
