‘Baby Driver’ actor Hudson Meek dead at 16 after falling from moving vehicle

“Baby Driver” actor Hudson Meek has died. He was 16.

The teenager suffered blunt force injuries after falling out of a moving vehicle in his hometown of Vestavia Hills, Ala., on Dec. 19, according to local TV station WVTM.

He was rushed to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital, where he died two days later.

“Our hearts are broken to share that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus tonight,” read a statement posted to Meek’s Instagram on Dec. 21.

“His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met.”

Aside from acting, Meek enjoyed hanging out with his friends, exploring the woods, playing sports and traveling, according to his obituary.

“He loved snow-skiing and could easily navigate the hardest trails that no one else in the family would dare attempt,” the notice read.

“One of his favorite places to be was at the lake, tubing and wakeboarding.”

Some of Meek’s accomplishments included becoming a certified scuba diver at the age 13, visiting all 50 states and watching all 36 seasons of “The Simpsons.”

Meek was described as “reflective and thoughtful” but “tenacious when he set his mind to something.”

A celebration of life will be held on Dec. 28 at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Alabama and livestreamed on his Instagram page.

His death is still under investigation by the Vestavia Hills Police Department.

The child star was best known for playing the younger version of Ansel Elgort’s character in the 2017 action film “Baby Driver.”

He also made guest appearances in several TV series, including “MacGyver” in 2018 and “Legacies” in 2022.

Meek’s most recent project was the thriller “The School Duel,” which was released in September, per IMDb.
