Calvin Nash opened up about celebrating his first Christmas with his girlfriend Ciara after they moved in together.
The Munster rugby player marked the major milestone in his relationship last year, with him sharing that it was very special.
The Christmas holidays are usually very busy for him due to his rugby schedule, but he tries to focus on just being with his family.

Last Christmas was extra special for Calvin as he and his girlfriend got a dog together - making it their pooch’s first holidays with them too.
He told RSVP Magazine: “I got a dog recently, so his first Christmas was cool. It was my first Christmas living with my girlfriend as well. That was really nice and it was completely new to me. My favourite childhood memory was the time I got a skate ramp one year, but I was a terrible skater. I used to cycle up it with my bike and nearly kill myself.”
Reflecting on how living with his girlfriend has changed the holidays for him, he shared: “I used to hate putting up the Christmas tree and all the decorations, but because it’s my house, I feel like it’s nicer. You’re not forced to put it up, you want to put it up. I enjoyed doing it because it got some ambiance going. Doing that together was nice too, it was quality time with each other.”
His Christmases normally consist of the meal, with his family keeping it low-key for the most part.
“I don’t really have a favourite Christmas tradition,” Calvin said. “My Christmases were just eating dinner with my family and opening presents - I suppose they are little traditions.
“We used to go to Christmas Eve mass. It would be all my mam’s side and we would go to the evening mass together. That was a tradition for a good while. I unfortunately went away from that a bit, it was probably around the time that I moved out of home that I came away from it.”
He added: “In recent years it has pretty much been me playing rugby around Christmas. We don’t get that much time off around then. Sometimes Christmas is just having dinner, but the novelty of Christmas isn’t a huge thing for me. It is a nice time to show people who are close to you how much they mean to you, with the gifts that I’m not good at giving. It’s a lovely time of the year.”
