Now we’ve officially reached temperatures under five degrees and we’re crawling into December, it’s safe to say it’s hot chocolate season. And if you really want to up your hot chocolate game, it may be time to invest in a Hotel Chocolat Velvetiser.
Launched in 2018, this device isn’t exactly new, but it’s a product people put on their Christmas and Black Friday wishlists time and time again. And our TV Writer Kiesha is no exception, having recently got a Velvetiser for herself she says she has “stopped buying hot chocolates from coffee shops as these taste the same (if not better)”.
Hotel Chocolat sell the hot chocolate maker for £99.95 here, and this comes with the machine itself, as well as two ceramic cups. You can also add on some hot chocolate starter kits from £10 in any flavour you could possibly want, ranging from classic chocolate to mince pies, mint and orange. Other retailers however, are offering the Velvetiser in their Black Friday sales. Amazon is curerntly selling the Velvetiser, plus 10 single serve chocolate starter sachets for £86.95. The online retailer is also selling just the Velvetiser for £74.99 here. And John Lewis has discounted the price of the machine along with the two drinking cups to £84.95 here.

Amazon)Kiesha, our writer, can not praise the product enough saying the Velvetiser completely “changes the game of hot chocolates, I wasn’t really a fan at first, however, the chocolate pieces create a much creamier texture that the standard powdered hot chocolate”.
She also was pleasantly surprised with the amount of flavour sachets there are available recommending the selection boxes to begin with, and later on purchasing the full size boxes of your favourite flavours.
A downside of the Velvetiser is however the price. Spending nearly £100 on a hot chocolate maker is not something everyone is willing to do, so we’ve found a few cheaper alternatives. Lakeland have a milk and hot chocolate frother available for £49.99. With four different heat and froth settings, this device is great for both hot chocolates and coffees. Alongside this, the Dualit Cocotiser is currency on offer on Amazon for £64.98 here.
