Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis’daughter Lily-Rose Depp has been making waves for her acting roles, most recently for her starring role in Nosferatu. Nosferatu has been making headlines and becoming a favorite for fans on Letterboxd for its beautiful storytelling and rather spooky, scary themes. It runs in the family clearly since Lily-Rose has been taking on more horror-based roles, and her dad, Johnny, is no stranger to the spooky side of film.
In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Lily-Rose talked about so much, including which project of her dad’s “traumatized” her, and you may not guess which one.

Okay, okay, we’ll tell you: Lily-Rose was traumatized by the 1990 hit film Edward Scissorhands. Starring Johnny, Winona Ryder, and Vincent Price, the film follows an unfinished humanoid who has scissor blades instead of hands, and falls in love.
While you may think that Lily-Rose was afraid of the makeup, or something like that, she was actually “traumatized” for a rather sweet reason.
“I was traumatized by it,” she told the outlet. “Not because I thought he was scary, but because everyone was being so mean to him and I got really upset.” (Honestly, that’s kind of adorable.)
For those who don’t know, Paradis and Johnny first met in 1998 while he was in France filming The Ninth Gate. They started dating pretty soon after meeting, and were together until 2012. They welcomed two children together named Lily-Rose, born in 1999, and John “Jack” Christopher, born in 2002.
In a recent interview with Interview Magazine, Lily-Rose talked about how she is “grateful” for being on location so much with her parents.
“I grew up that way, and as much as there were moments where I was like, ‘I want to be at school with my friends,’ now that I’m older, I’m so grateful,” Depp said of living her life on location. “[I’m also grateful] for what I now see as the work that they put into making sure that my brother and I had a life in these places that were not ours,” she continued. “At the time I wouldn’t have seen it, but now I see that as conscious efforts that my parents were making to make me and my brother feel at home.”
