Nothing is launching yet another variant of the Phone (2a), with the new “Community Edition” arriving with a glow in the dark design.

The Nothing Phone (2a) Plus Community Edition is the fourth iteration of the Nothing Phone (2a), the budget-focused smartphone that we absolutely loved earlier this year. Following that initial launch edition, the company also debuted a “Special Edition” with some more color, as well as later launching the Phone (2a) Plus, a slightly more expensive variant with a faster chip and a minor camera update.

This latest variant is the “Community Edition,” and was built in collaboration with Nothing’s user community. Hundreds of entries were submitted for the device’s design, with Nothing ultimately collaborating with winners Astrid Vanhuyse & Kenta Akasaki on the “Phospheresence” design. The new look has a slight green undertone in the daylight, but radiates a bright green when the surroundings go dark.

Under the hood, this is the same Phone (2a) Plus, again with a higher price this time around of £399.

There’s also a new wallpaper for the device, designed by another contest member, Andrés Mateos. The “Connected Collection” consists of six new wallpapers. And, finally, Ian Henry Simmonds worked with Nothing on the packaging for the device, which has reflective green portions and elements that glow in the dark just like the phone.

The very limited edition release will see just 1,000 units made available, with orders opening on November 12. Notably, in Japan, this version of the device will instead be based on the standard Phone (2a), rather than the Plus.
