AN AUSTRALIAN Oasis tribute band were shocked when a well known pop star interrupted one of their rehearsals to compliment them.
The musical group, who go by Shakerfaker, were doing a run through ahead of an upcoming performance at the Bakehouse Studios when a famous figure surprised them.
They told fans the story on Instagram, joking: "Everyone, meet Shakerfaker’s newest fan."
Shakerfaker posted a group photo taken with Coldplay's vocalist Chris Martin, adding: "You might know him from Coldplay but we know him as the charming bloke who popped his head into our Bakehouse Studios rehearsal room & said “Sorry to interrupt-but you sound terrific..’ which was nice.
"He looked over our set for Saturday and approved.
"You should come check us out at George Lane St Kilda on the weekend if you know what’s good for ya!
"Enjoy your stay, Chris. Thanks for coming to say ‘yellow’."
Shocked fans have gushed over the chance encounter in the comments.
One person wrote: "This gave me a shiver."
Another exclaimed "What the f**king f**k?!" in disbelief.
Others commented on the exchange on another social media platform, with one saying: "That’s f**king awesome. Congrats on the recognition from him.
"Despite maybe not making songs as good as their early stuff, he’s written some great music and it’s nice to get positive recognition from one of the worlds most famous musicians."
