Here’s The Latest Update On Sean Combs
TSR previously reported that a new legal filing claims Sean “Diddy” Combs tried to contact witnesses and manipulate public opinion while locked up, according to The Associated Press. Combs has been locked up at the Brooklyn Metro Detention Center since his September arrest.
The new allegations emerge as the Bad Boy Records founder continues his attempts to secure bail. On Friday, Nov. 15, prosecutors filed new documents in Manhattan federal court, challenging Combs’ $50 million bail request. The filing includes some redacted information but mainly contests the bail proposal.
Regarding the obstruction claims, prosecutors say they have recorded phone calls from Combs to family members. In these calls, he allegedly instructs family members to contact victims and witnesses and even suggests fabricating these stories to sway the jury and improve his damaged reputation. Combs’ trial is scheduled to start on May 5, 2025.
“The defendant has shown repeatedly — even while in custody — that he will flagrantly and repeatedly flout rules in order to improperly impact the outcome of his case. The defendant has shown, in other words, that he cannot be trusted to abide by rules or conditions,” the prosecutors’ filing explains.
