Outlander fans 'figure out' Faith theory and the explanation on how she 'lived'

7 hours ago 6

Outlander fans are still in shock following the season seven finale, with theories on Faith's life flying around all over social media, even one week on.

In the final scene, Fanny Pocock (Florrie May Wilkinson) was discovered by Claire singing a recognisable lullaby which immediately caught Claire’s attention.

It was the same exact song she sang to her stillborn baby, Faith Fraser, convincing her she somehow survived and gave birth to Jane and Fanny, who would be Claire’s grandchildren.

Fans who will remember the episode of Faith's birth will recall that in series 2, Master Raymond took Faith away after she passed, and then later Claire and Jamie visited her grave in Paris.

This is leading fans to have deep discussions on the Outlander Fan Facebook page about various theories.

One fan said they think they cracked it - and many agree.

They posted: "I just rewatched the episode “faith” and I think I may have figured out how Faith lived on.

"Jamie placed the spoon for St. Andrew on faiths grave. If you google what he’s known for: “According to Christian apocryphal works, Saint Andrew raised a dead child to life in multiple accounts.

"I also think that Master Raymond hid Faith away or had her time travel to protect her from the 200 year baby prophecy (that Geillis had wrong when she tried to go after Brianna years later.)

"Everyone is asking how could Faith have allowed her daughter Jane to live in a brothel.. but I think that was a matter of survival for Jane because room and board in the brothel was better than being homeless and hungry if they assumed their mother to be dead.

"I also think Fanny reuniting with her long lost grandparents is a gift because they were unable to raise Faith themselves. This becomes the next best thing after such a discovery. Everyone saying the dates don’t add up.. Faith is about 2/3 years older than Brianna who should be in her late 20s. Jane is said to be about 16/17 years old meaning Faith had Jane around 16/17 years old. I guess we’ll see the story unfolds next season."

Master Raymond had mysterious powers

And many fans said this was the best theory to date.

One replied: "Best explanation I’ve heard thus far. I thought it might have something to do with that spoon. I even thought maybe the locket was made from the spoon but probably not since it was gold."

Another wrote: "Love this explanation!"
